Eric R. Pianka, Denton A. Cooley Centennial Professor of Zoology
B. A., Carleton College, 1960
Ph. D., University of Washington, 1965
D. Sc., University of Western Australia, 1990
Eric R. Pianka was born in the mountains in the shadow of Mount Shasta in Siskiyou County along the California-Oregon border in 1939.
At age 13, he was seriously injured in a Bazooka blast in the front yard of his childhood home in Yreka, California. possible runner up for the Darwin Award?
He was admitted, but without financial aid, to all three and chose to attend the University of Washington in Seattle because it was farthest from home.
You guys let him escape to Texas
In the summer of 1968, Pianka accepted an assistant professorship at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has stayed ever since.

How about his chit-for-brains students who have been so enthralled by his lectures that they relish the thought of the coming epidemic?
They have no clue as to how much suffering such a pandemic brings. Of course, they all assume that it will be some other poor slobs who will fall victim to ebola or whatever form the disaster takes.
