I thought I would never miss seeing the Spit & Hurri hordes...but now I long for them.  My Messchersmitt does not like this salty sea air...  It keeps wanting to fly towards France but...gets confused.



The plumage doesn't enter in to it....

Sure thing... Here is what the general layout is:

Kanttori has been working on this, in the downtimes between getting Karelia to it's beautiful conclusion. It has some of his "custom coastlines" throughout, which breaks up the normal look and makes it look quite a bit realistic. I don't specifically know the base layouts yet, but I do know there will be many fleets for some nice North Atlantic action.

Kanttori is finishing it up in the next couple of days, then I need to add my new, relevant clipboard map, and then send it in to Skuzzy.

ETA: 2 weeks (but that's a real "2 weeks" :)  )

It's a summer terrain, and a winter version will be available at some point in the future.

Nitpicking, but from the looks of it, there seems to be connection between main Jutland and the northern part a couple of places. In reality this is an island, with, at the time, 3 bridges crossing the fjord.

Thanks, Snefens. That map was made with only the elevation data at that time; it may or may not reflect what the terrain actually is after building, it's really only to show the general scope and layout.

We try to double-check things like that when we're actually in that area in the TE, so maybe Kanttori caught it already. If not, I'll see that it gets taken care of.

Let us know if there are other things you spot. It's great to have the input from a "local" :)

That's really funny that you posted that pic, Tex... when the map was initially laid out (elevations loaded and only minimal type-assignment made) I was impressed with how well it was matching the pictures I had found online. I even posted a screenshot in the Terrain Team forum showing the comparison. The real picture I found is long since unavailable, but the screenshot is still available...

It all looks even better than this now. It's going to be a fun map. :)

Looks really really really good..

The only thing that really throws it off is that the trees in norway are mostly pine trees and AH only has leaf trees.. pine trees are darker in color then leaf trees...

Would rock though if you guys could do the map with pines...

Strictly SEA/AvA maps... they do not have the full 3-country thing happening that an MA map needs.

And to be honest, we're really not interested in making MA maps... "We", as in the Terrain Team.

Something that is a MUST for any norwegian map is Stave Churches...

They are a very typical and special type of church that is quite common in norway...
