Saw combat (was used to intercept B-24s on the first Ploesti raid), but it was the only one actually marked as a Romanian aircraft- the rest were left in German markings. Used by Escadrila 1 vanatoare de noapte based at Bucharest-Otopeni, the unit was under the direct command of the Luftwaffe but staffed by Romanians.

Well if you have at least one photo ref showing these markings I don't see why not! We have lots of "unique" paint job aircraft.

Thats part of the problem- they were under orders NOT to photograph their A/C, as the radar was still Top Secret at the time. I know several ARR historians who have been researching for years and not come across any photos of it.

Bogdan made that profile based on descriptions given him by a surviving vet.

Well find some articles that describe it. Something that states "We painted only one of the aircraft with Romanian markings, but left the rest of the camoflague in place" you know? To back up your submission.
