Title: question
Post by: Brenjen on April 06, 2006, 10:40:34 AM
Do the CV's count as airfields toward ( or against ) the reset? As-in...if one country is down to two land based airfields they get reset even if they have a cv up ( an airfeild ) or do they lose the reset when it is sunk or when the port it spawns from is taken? Basically does the three airfield rule mean three LAND based airfields I guess is my question. Can anyone clarify this point of interest for me? Thank you

O.K. so; if one country has two land based airfields & a CV they still have the required three airfields. Does the reset occur at the point when the C.V. is sunk? Or when the port it spawns from is captured?

I would say when the CV is sunk and has respawned.  If you notice there is a system messge when a CV respawns after it's port has been captured:
"System: Field 204 has been captured by the Bishops" (204 being the CV)

It would have to be when the originating Port has been captured and after the CV has been sunk and respawns (to a different country...the one that now controls the port). Then the CV has been lost / captured and reset should occur.

I think Donzo is correct.

Thanks! And no Donzo I never noticed that message inparticular..I see the messages saying one country or the other has caputered XXX but I never knew it posted that message when the CV respawned after a port capture. So thanks again, now I know I was correct in trying to protect the port & thus the CV to help stave off the reset.
