I just bought a book about of WWII maps and just had to share. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) I know some of you are interested in this type of thing so I scanned an image and cropped it for a closer pic. Sorry about the size....any smaller and the clarity is very poor.
The book is:
Historical Maps of World War II Europe
Michael Swift and Michael Sharpe
PRC Publishing Ltd.
ISBN 1 85648 573 0
Here is a sample.
8th AF (http://www.members.home.com/k.plante/8thAF.gif)
cropped image (http://www.members.home.com/k.plante/8thAF1.gif)
Edit: On some of the maps you can see the annotations from the commanders and senior officers about particular defenses expected..some speculation and some fact..quite interesting actually. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
edit 2: scrapped the images and put in links instead because of load times. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
