no, look at the front, the way it curves into the cockpit. wings and the tail fins are fairly normal, it's the front of the plane that just looks, well, you know, err...  different

Here's my contribution.  Took it late last year at Kingsley ANG Base in Oregon.  Now the only base in the country that trains F-15 pilots.

a p51,f86,f4,f15,f22 would be a good picture. there not much of a generation gap between planes. the f15 and p51 have close to a 30 year gap.  But still its a nice pic.

F22 is the the *****.   LOCKHEED MARTIN is the best

The Pony can get it's arse kicked and still keep on going, while if the other two manage to hit a flea, they'll fll out of the sky in a big ball of fire.

Fancy technology = Less durable and armored aircraft.

Vintage Birds = Missing all the fancy buttons and gauges of the new planes, that makes the legendary "furball" extinct.

:D

Mmm...really. I can hit a Pony with a 7.62 in the radiator, and 3 minutes guranteed or your money back, its dead stick.

Also, we've all seen what a single 30mm does to a B-17 - the same round which frequently obliterated the Pony. Only bird that got its bellybutton kicked and kept going was the P-47.

Well out at Nellis I read one too many reports of F15's having engine problems becuase they suck in these tiny rocks the size of your eyes.

Also 1 of our F-22's had an engine failure on the top end of a power off stall during a spin test.

Of course if we get a few Migs, we might not have these problems, lol.

I'll second that.  Only thing better is a 37mm cannon.

I lost a wing a couple of times and managed to bring the plane back.  I didn't land it, just crash landed in on the pad and then get a landing successful.

Aye the radiator in teh pony was very vulnerable like any other  water cooled aircraft, but in AH it soaks up explosive 20mm rounds like they were full of confetti and the broken dreams of the people of Germany during WW2.

BTW The F-22 Looks like it's some CGI work like it was pulled from F-22ADF or Total AIr War. If Anyone remembers those series.

Mobius, are you military? Im gona guess Navy by the AC. If you are please PM me. I have a few questions from someone who has my soon to be job.

By the way. F-22 is the purtiest aircraft in the world. Excluding P-38s.

I think the cockpit had some kind of wierd tint, because all of the pics show an unusual turquoize (sp) color.

I checked the F-15's they were (there were two at Sun N Fun) both 1979 models so not really all that young.

The F-14 we were told was making it's last public airshow appearance. :(

I spent 5 days and four nights camping under the wing again this year and it was great (7 years now).

Oh for the first time the Air Force set up lights for security with armed guards around the Raptors (they never did that for the 15's or 16')  Damn lights flooded the overnight camping area and made it hard to walk to the shadows and pee.

:D

Real!! I was there and saw the flight, the Raptor has some kind of metal in the canopy that the 15 does not have (to reflect radar?)

Very cool to see there first public debut, they rock.

They even looked fake to me and I was standing 25 ft away from them on Friday when they were on display.

But I have seen the B-2 at the Ft. Lauderdale airshow and my brain wont believe it's real either.
