Since HT refuses to have night why can't we have the sun at High Noon
all the time?
As it is right now we have to suffer hours of the sun on the horizon. And light conditions in the game are worse at sunrise/set that they are when the moon is out.
So please put the sun strait up or alow the sun to set completelly into night.
-
I second the motion.
-
Making it smaller would be a nice start. As it is, seems completely out of scale to me.
-
high noon all day sounds good to me i log off when its sunrise sunset low light
-
psst i say put night in for like only 15min make for some fun NOE missions
-
Just give us sun in the AvA arena and ill be happy
-
Either add night or do away with dawn/dusk

I agree, I don't undestand why HT refuses to have night ! ? Why not try it 1 tour, !?
In AH1 the fireworks/acs in night/fights around CVs were lot of fun, now the grafic is better

I love the night. The day is ok and the sun can be fun but I live
To see those rays slip away....
Oh, wait, we're not singing here, are we? :)

The night time flights during Christmas were something special, the overall effect was much better than the old AH1 night. It would be fun fighting in this type of night setting.
-
Looks like I'm on my own here guys but I like the changing sun position & twilight effect.
Low light is good for sneaking in noe unseen.
Get a position between sun & nme. Makes it very tricky for him to see you. "Beware the hun in the sun" :)
Call me an old romantic but I think sunset/rise looks good.
I'd like more atmospheric effects - clouds, rain, wind etc. And SASkid is right - a short night period would be good. All the fellers who keep harping on about wanting the Black Widow might get one then.
Variety is what's needed. We get enough of the bland, neutered, one size fits all approach on this side of the Atlantic from the bloody European Commission :D

I agree, maybe only 15 minutes of night time would be sweet. At least Lancs would be more usefull.

Same with me, trying to discern targets during dusk/dawn gives me a splitting headache even with gamma jacked-up. I either just do the AA gunnery thingy or log-off...I never fly between 5pm to 7am game-clock time...

I don't know how the clock works or how long a 'day' is but it seems that when I log on at my most convienent time, around 3pm Pac time, it seems to always be either close to sunset or sunrise.
My old tired eyes have a very hard time fighting in those lighting conditions and I too find myself manning ground guns or GV's then.
Maybe a faster transition from dawn to say 10am and 4pm to dusk would help but, OTOH, I don't mind the nighttime as we last had it in the MA.

while we are at it... can we get a comet in the nite sky?

I didn't even know there WAS a moon. I would like to occasionally see night. A few more clouds and maybe some other effects. Don't know what other effects because I don't know what could be available except wind.

The sun, the sun, I hate the sun in my eyes every dang flight.
Leave it high noon or cycle 24 hours.

My experience is that when I log in at 9 PM eastern, the sun is always on the horizon... Always. It's a giant pain in the neck. Indeed, the sun is HUGE, but somehow gets completely blocked by the thinest cockpit frame. Go figure. Basically, the sun obscures an arc of about 45 degrees, which is far too much, unless we're flying on Mercury.
My regards,
Widewing

Ha, ditto Wide! I wondered if that was just me, always logging on at dusk/dawn and it being that way for hours.
-
agree, or just give us some headlights

i dont know i dont really like the night becuuse when your in H2H and its dark its so hard to fly. i mean u always half to check alt to make sure you dont run right into a tree plus you cant c a dam thing below the herizon but it would be awsome if it was 12:00 all the time i would defenatly aprove of that. im just saying when its dark is extremely hard to fly.

They have been doing some night missions in the Snapshot flights lately and they kick butt!
I wish they had the Maps & Night flights in the MA also, they are incredible

LMAO I cuncur.
I log on around the same time and it seems Im always headed into the sun.
The sun BTW is IMO the most accurately modeled thing in the game.
I wish either they would do something a bit differentlywith it. Or HTC would start paying for the bottles of Excedrin for the skull splitting headaches it gives me just like the real one does.
Or at least let the clipboard block it out.
you cant fight with the thing up anyway and you cant move it around while in a fight to constantly block the sun while in a fight.
So the only place it helps you is the trip to or from. when if your like me you arent doing much else other then looking at the clipboard map anyway.

Heh. Certainly it's one of them. In which case, how come so many people want to reduce the reality?

Turn it off. It killed my son :(

Which reality is this?
The perfect Summer day, EVERY day AH2 reality, or reality reality?
Bring on the whole package -
Bad days
Fog
Mist
Rain
Clouds
Storm fronts
Night
-
I agree, bring it all.
Everyone says the MA is for arcadey style play, but to me that's the dueling arena. There are so many different things that happen in the MA with missions, base taking, GV battles, there will always be a lot of action whether it's night, high noon, foggy, rainy, whatever. I'd love to dogfight through a fog bank twisting and turning just catching glimpses of my enemy. Brings a whole new dynamic to the game.
I would say give it a shot for a tour and see what happens. There's always going to be different opinions on the forums, and this is such a small percentage of AH players.
The real measure of if something is working is how many are in the MA at a given time. I wonder if HTC tracks that with a log?
Bring us weather and a 24 hour clock!:aok

:lol Great one, dedalos!

Why doesn't HTC make it so every target gets a big yellow circle around it so we can't miss it? I mean, c'mon. I don't want to have to work to try to see targets. Besides, everybody knows that in WWII, the guy who won the dogfight was the guy who had the better headon technique, not the guy who spotted the other guy first.
I've decided that from now on, anytime I log on and it is not night, dawn or dusk, I am going to log off.
:cry
-
Well, honestly I hope in Combat Tour they will model the Force. That way the game will be more enjoyable for a level 25 Jedi like me.

Lol, Yippee!

I would love to see some form of a "night" time. In the picture of previous post of the Santa & raindeer the night and moon are done very nicely. I believe it might add a new dynamic to the game.
Just my 2 cents

I just have to get me one of these.

I say get rid of the Sun all together, but still have it light. It is so anoying to look at it, and it screws up my shots.
While your at it, get rid of the G thing. When I pull hard on the joystick, I keep blacking out and this makes it hard for me to shoot down people.
Oh yeah, what's this thing about crashing when you hit the ground. In MSFS I can set it up to bounce off the ground. This would be much better because I wouldn't crash all the time.
Gunner
PS, unlimited ammo would be nice too

fine I dont mind the reality.
but in reality when driving in my car I can raise my hand to sheild the sun from my eyes, or wear sunglasses.
IRL pilots could wear sunglasses or would raise their hand or thumb to block the sun.
Here we have dont have the benifit of being able to move our hands around but we do have a clipboard that appears to be a solid untill you hold it between you and the sun. then the sun shines through it like its not even there.

Lets manufacture the planes out of whatever material the clipboard is manufactured from. This way our planes can be seen but not shot down.

The clipboard should at least block the sun just like the canopy frame!

Yeah, if there's to be no night, I can't see the point of dawn and dusk. Just leave the freekin sun at noon and have done with it.
