The little la5fn tucked amongst the big p38s is me. I'm not in the 475th, but I fly with them.

We can cut the BS & go straight to the DA if you want :) Email me for a time, indy007@gmail.com

Reminds me of an old movie....The Mouse That Roared

Peter Sellers plays pretty much the whole country, and declares war on the US -- even though his country's army still uses armor and longbows....

Its all in good fun YUCCA.
BTW, great video and great flying!

Catch those 475th pukes alone and they are easy kills.
Was dropping them all weekend in a P-38. :D

LOL, who gave ya permission to modify the profile I did? :)

If I started worrying about everyone who shot me down, I'd never get any sleep.

So what you are saying is we should expect more hordes of LA7s and Spit 16s?

And come to think of it, doesn't this mean we win?  If you are looking for a dogfight with the 38s of the 475th, that means you want to furball :)

Welcome to our world, and that of the fighter pilots of AH:aok

That quote of mine was regarding any attempt at
SERIOUS discussion on these boards..which, 600+
posts later proves, is a total waste of time.

And after all hubster, its a brand new thread
...besides I got a little bored...
so I thought I would stir you guys up...
you are SOOOO easy and I need a little entertainment
right now.  Glad to see you guys don't disappoint! LOL

Yea, you fell to my guns. :p
BTW, the LCA has never been opposed to furballs.

Hmmm.  Don't remember that, but it's possible as lots of folks kill me.

Just for fun I looked at the stats and it shows in the last two tours that I've gotten you 3 times and you've gotten me 0 times.

You were flying an LA7, 190A8 and 110G.

Just checked again against LCA and I'm 20 kills v 3 death in the last two tours.  And I've got to be the worst pilot in the 475th.  That's kinda sad really

Doesn't really matter much though does it as long as yer having fun :)

When I read the title of this thread immediately the scene from Indiana Jones came to mind where the little scummy guy with the sword (LCA)  who's all flash and show, but with no substance starts his little display then Harrison Ford (475th), looking rather bored,  just pulls out his revolver and blows him away...:aok

The same reason a dog you just beat for crapping on the floor eventually comes up to you with its tail between its legs and lovingly licks your hand waiting for a pat on the head. Even the lamest griefer has a side of him that secretly longs for acceptance.

quick bit of movie trivia for ya.  that seen would have never had been made if Ford did not have a case of the "runs."  the fight scene was originally designed as a long fight sequence, but with Ford's illness, he could not do it.....so he just shot em:)

LCA, you guys are funny, i'll give you that i guess.

...and that is corky's profile of the p38....click on nose art for a better look.

KillnU 29-2
Lazerr 15-2
CorkyJr 14-1
Soulyss 6-0
Hooch 6-2
Kappa 8-0
Souless 4-0

(This is 1/4th of our squad FYI.)

Thats against 1 wing of your elite dweeb group, IE not counting the other two.

If you'd like to settle this officially and keep this garbage off the BBS, im sure every memeber of the 475th would accept a good old fashion squad duel.

Pure luck, I use the Luke Skywalker method, close my eyes and hope for the best...The force must be strong with me... ;) I nickname my field gun/Ostwind the, "Angry Finger of God", because it just reaches out into the ether and smites foes into oblivion...hehe

If the LCA endeavored to succeed at fighter combat with the same vim and vigor they do toolshedding in 6 months to 5 years they may understand what fun really is...It's actually quite a shame a group of individuals who are obviously very motivated, even if that motivation is mis-directed, will never know the pure joy of a beautifull and adrenalin filled fighter sortie, a sortie flown for no other reason than for the thrill and lust for a good fight...

Hmm now I believe it was either last week or week before on Trinity.  It was maybe 5 knights at I believe it was a9 and I was one of those knights vs large rook force and many LCA.  Not once did you fellas down me and killed several of your members reapeatedly which started swearing PM's sent at me.  Ended up getting 13 scalps and 7 were LCA and still had 10 cannon left in my 38 but ack got me as I was climbing out, still felt good.  Week later me and killn were at a base in the south.  LCA were there defending and we racked up lots of kills.  Ended up getting 12 and 8 were LCA before ack got me.  Only people you should be thanking are those in the LCA saving your skins.

Now since when does a LCA fly into a fight not flying a lgay7, dweebfire 16, or a nik? :huh

Well, you see I'm just using my expert carpentry skills to further the war effort. I build the plywood gliders that are towed on every LCA mission. That's why a 12-plane base capture mission ends up described as a 50-plane horde by the enemy. If it's a good enough tactic for Patton and Rommel, it's good enough for me.

Or truth be told...more like a 20 buff raid & a handful of fighters mixed in for a tally of over sixty planes...like the lone LCA mission I was witness too.

Here I'll do the math for you:

                                                  20 X 3 = 60 (20 boxes X 3 planes per box)

                                                  5 X 1 = 5 (handfull of fighters X 1)

                                                  60 + 5 = over sixty planes

Like I have repeatedly told you, just look where the
bases or bombs are dropping!  :D

P.S.  We were hitting Knights all night tonight.
Why didn't you come down to 148?  We grabbed that
base way down behind your lines and held it for
a couple of hours.  The diversion allowed ROOKS to capture
4 knight bases that I know if.  Sheesh, we were there for
like 40 mins after the cap!

Uh...yeah...new. It's whatever they were teaching in 1976, you now addition,subtraction,multiplication,division....the new stuff. I'm sure your raids have gotten smaller now....but that's close to the number I saw a few weeks ago...I stopped counting at 17 boxes of buffs because I got a little busy with the fighters & gunners so I may be off by 3 or 4 planes. I landed my 2, that's all I was concerned about at the time.

I've been taking a nice break from AH, but it looks like I'll have to come back...

Not that the 475th need my mediocre skills, but I can work way up from shooting down drones offline to the LCA online, the only difference is a slight 2-3g lead turn.

Why does "fighter sortie" have to be the only REAL way of having fun? While i dont really agree with the LCA and their attitude, i dont see reason to limit fun in AH to dogfighting. To each his own.

This is coming from a hardcore "furballer-always-into-thick-and things-first-think-later" dweeb.

Thanks for your concern about us lazs but
we are having no problems in this regard.
To the contrary, all the publicity these threads

"KNIGHT ADVISORY FLYING A P38 AS A KNIGHT WILL BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR LIFE"

lol just noticed if you look at the LCA's k/d ratio as a squad for tour 75 heres what you get

alpha squad - 1079 kills    1710 deaths
bravo squad - 843 kills    1618 deaths
echo squad  - 180 kills     348 deaths

I'm a knight and mostly fly P38's. For some reason, I'm not scared by your threats LOL   :)

P.S.   Lazer that P38 mission last night was sweet bro we should do it again, had pilots from the 475th, 479th, 38's, and FB's... I'll take the 17 of us vs all 3 of there squads combined lol

I play mostly from work, where I have no flight gear, just a mouse..This month has been bad for me because my main home computer broke and was in the shop, AH doesn't work so good on my laptop. :( Have no worries though I will be flying on weekends.. ;) I have flown over 100,000 virtual fighter sorties in my life, for no other reason than for the thrill of air to air combat...

Besides, we were too busy rolling up the West side of the map. ;)

I've always found when analyzing statistics that those that do alot of air to ground, although suffering a higher overall mortality rate due to groundifre, tend to more than make up for this with greater and more frequent opportunities to vulch...

Unless they're really going for the town and capture instead of the vultch. Problem kind of is that 110's and Mosi's are lumped in with P51s and P38s.

I had put a post in wishlist for pure attack perk setup. When in attack mode get attack perk points for attack AC.  Such as A-26, Ju 87g, and IL2 with 37 mm. But i was told this was a waist of code . Were there not dedicated attack AC in WWII?

Wasn't thinking about the toolsheding aspect of it .  More for the gv busting esp tigers.  Seen to many tigers sitting in the open with craters surrounding them.  Some ac like Ju-87g, and IL2 with 37 mm might make them at least try and hide the fact they are there. These two ac are more for base defence against gv than toolsheding.
Also the perk cost with say an A-26 might actually make them try and survive an attack run. Instead of the usual drop...boom....splat we see now.

Was the 475th active on the west side of the map last night?  I think I was flying rooks last night, was a bunch of 38s on the far west, but I can't remember if that was knights or bish.

Was a pretty boring time tho, my first sortie I winged a 38 then lost my rudder, ran home....

Second sortie was pretty much Bore n Zoom by a handful of 38s till the rest of the rooks got up and chased em home.  I winged a couple 38s but I think I only got 1 kill (38MAW).  Would've been more fun I think if the rest of the rooks hadn't shown up.

Yeah ... I know where you were coming from, but I also know what to expect. I

We also have the Hurri 2D and Yak-9T would could run a very specific attack mode as you describe.

But if attack planes cost perks there'd have to be something pretty special to be worth the cost of what is likely a one-way trip. Something like a B25H could be worth the price, a Ju-87G just for tank-killing.

A classic vet move to contain and vulch lol...4 lost bases with a fight is better than losing 10 undefended fields :)

It's a beerhelmet, made from the cardboard container in which cases of aluminum-clad beverages are sold. It protects you from the ill effects of judgemental errors which normally occur after consuming a case of cheap beer.

Nah, killing Lazer's easy, just wait until his mouse starts acting up (usually about once a month...  coincidence?  I think not :p  )

First :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl  LCA.

3 waves of LCA sent to 147 and each got repelled by knights and the 475th were here to help and this defending force was still half of the LCA.

A big to whels for giving the info of the LCA going to 147. :aok

1st wave ended up being niks, 110s, lancs, 26s, and many goons.  With force beign reported and sirens going, 475th and other knights answered the call.  Engines roaring on the runway and rollling to takeoff into a hoard of LCA that had the air advantage when many knight pilots were upping.  110s and niks were falling out of the sky and goons were being torn apart.  This wave was pushed back.

A follow up wave came after this with many buffs coming in on the deck and only to be found by 38s and 262s being torn up and not even making it to 147.

3rd wave was of 110s, typhs, and 24s.  These ended up being at no lower than 15k.  The call was made on country and jets rolled, temps rolled, and other planes followed.  This attack was repelled again with very few if not any LCA survivors.

4th wave came with 51s, 110s, and other misc. planes.  The knights answered the call and upped in numbers still having no numbers to compete with the large number of this LCA force.  In end they again were repelled and forced back to their base.

In all each time LCA attacked they had twice the number of the defending force and still were forced back.

We didn't need a spy. Your first wave of niks either flew into our fleet by mistake, or simply attacked it, but the cluster of red dots over the CV was pretty much a giveaway that something was afoot.

First rule of NOE missions attacking across a body of water: send a single plane ahead of the main attack force to scout for fleets.

The first wave made NO attempt to dog fight, but rather continued with its mission objective, so the defending fighters had a turkey shoot, like wise the second wave.

If the Lca had brought along fighter cover it might have been a different story.  We did not, but the amount of skill required to shoot down 110's and Buffs with the planes listed by this poster require little or NO skill at all since they weren't even trying to fight back.

The reference to numbers is moot LOL how many kills does Horach have in a C47

yep.  i was in the tower and saw CV 201 blinking so i jumped on the fleet and saw mass of low dots ib. i managed to kill 2 Lanc forms before CV died. when i saw who it was , I alerted Knits of LCA raid ib 147.  1st wave  of LCA was meet by maybe 5 or 6 fightErs LOL  vs esitmated 20 25 in the raid.

after 1st wave they continued to send low to medium alt planes to 147 which all failed.  then i noticed big bar near 138 to north, and called
to Knits that probable LCA raid ib from north ALTED, so we all upped  to engage, and squashed that attempt. after a 3rd and 4th attempt on 147,
LCA tried to back door 149, that raid was killed too. when i logged off,
an hour or 1.5 hours of fighting @ 147 area, 5 LCA raids killed off, by defending group half to only 2/3s thier attack force size LOL was hillarious.

Ahhh, you have stumbled onto their evil little secret here Boxboy!

This is how you rack up meaningless stats when you fly with the
475th.  LOL   Now pay attention  :D  It took many months of
espionage to unearth the 475th's top ten list.  We lost many
an agent in the attempt but we eventually bribed one of them
with a quarter and a cigarette and got them out. :D

======================================

475th's Top 10 Fighting Principles
"How to Fight When The Kill is all That Matters"

1 - ALWAYS look for fights that are already in progress so you can
slip onto the tail of a fighter engaged in a pursuit and easily
kill them.  This is the REAL reason the 475th cherishes furballs:
for the easy kills and stat whoring.  This is the GOLDEN RULE.

2 - ALWAYS look for easy targets, preferably aircraft that are
vintage 1940. Flying a superior plane will almost always get
you a kill.  Flying against a contemporary aircraft leaves too
much to chance.

3 - ALWAYS look for aircraft that are leaving the fight and returning
to base.  Chances are that they are either damaged, out of ammo,
low on fuel or  the pilot is wounded.  In either case, a kill is
easily obtained.  Any kill is a good kill.

4 - NEVER attack alone.  A 1v1 fight leaves too much to chance.
Getting and landing kills so we can see our name in lights
is all that matters.

5 - ALWAYS vulch whenever possible.  Vulching allows you to rack
up a large number of kills in relative safety so you can see your
name in lights and impress your peers with your gaming skill
and statistics prowess.

6 - NEVER attempt to deack a field or attack ground targets.  Doing
so will not get you a kill and will only expose you to harm
so don't bother.  Let other players take on those tasks so you can
vulch when they are done.  You must have no qualms about sacrificing
countrymen so you can get kills.

7 - NEVER concern yourself with a base capture.  Use those
attempting to take a base as diversionary bait to allow you to apply
rule #2 and get some easy kills.

8 - if another countryman is in trouble and outnumbered
DO NOT attempt to help him.  Doing so will only guarantee you
a death and will deny you the precious statistic of
a kill.  Besides, we don't care about our country's objectives:
we only want to harvest kills so we can see our name in lights and
drool over our stats.

9 - NEVER auger your plane:  your stats are too important to
jeoparize your numbers by ejecting and getting a new plane.
ALWAYS fly back to a friendly base and land your kills - no matter
how much time it takes.

10 - ALWAYS remind players who don't notice how great you
are on their own, that you are the best fighter pilots that the
game has ever seen.  Be sure and point out their oversight to
them and show them your stats. We play this game for stats.
Our one and only goal is  to shoot down easy targets, land kills,
see our name in lights and accrue statistics.

====================================

So endeth the lesson...  :D

Sounds like we need to run some simultaneous attacks
at 3 or more bases....or just level the base we're going

Most military doctrine, especially in that era before technology became such a force multiplier, call for 3:1 odds for offensive operations.

Just saying ...

That list is funny, but I wouldnt label one squad with it. There are lots in here who follow a few of those rules.  For a squad that just wants to be in fighters, most of them actually make sense. For other types of players, the rules seem selfish.  To each their bone.

Last I checked most of my kills are niks, lgay7s, and dweebfire 16s.  Last tour alone had 151 spit 16s, 99 lgay7s, and 101 niks and that was out of 1428 kills.  Listing those planes as those are the most frequently flown.

Rarely do I find early war planes as many people believe they are needed to survive and those that fly early war models are usually good sticks.

That contradicts #3 and #4. In order for me to cherry pick, that means I have to kill an enemy on a friendly's 6. Also, why is it I have many people thank me on range channel for clearing their 6? I also apologize a lot of the time if I do not make it there in time.
Quote
9 - NEVER auger your plane:  your stats are too important to
jeoparize your numbers by ejecting and getting a new plane.
ALWAYS fly back to a friendly base and land your kills - no matter
how much time it takes.

I'm sorry, we find that kamikazi attacks are not as effecient as living through the 1 pass. Why make 1 pass when you can make 2? LCA doctrine dictates keep your nose pointed at the target until it catches fire, which means often you auger into it.
Quote
10 - ALWAYS remind players who don't notice how great you
are on their own, that you are the best fighter pilots that the
game has ever seen.  Be sure and point out their oversight to
them and show them your stats. We play this game for stats.
Our one and only goal is  to shoot down easy targets, land kills,
see our name in lights and accrue statistics

I tell people I suck, as do others in 475th. Ask viper215

I am done, yall are not worth the time. But hey, if you have no other life than trying to annoy people in a game keep trying. I don't want to ruin your fun, You are not bothering mine one bit.

You take things too seriously Raptor.
You really oughta learn to laugh at yourself...you'll
enjoy the game and life much more. :aok

Besides, all the rules are to be employed as
one...or didn't you read that part in your squad manual?
You can't apply any one ingredient in a recipe, you
need them all to make a tasty treat. :D

Redford Michigan where the hell is that??? Now Lansing I know since I was born and raised there.  As for the yawn I agree it was pretty much a yawn since we flattened the town but couldn't get the troops in due the fighter cover.

475th's Top 10 Fighting Principles
"How to Fight When The Kill is all That Matters"

Any ONE in the 475th would pwn yer arse in the DA, MA, TA, AvA, SEA, AND the H2H.

I winged MANY times with the 475th before you "forced their hand".   Had you left the tower with your Panoramic Mock-ups and croppers, you'd have realized that they were doing more than vulching.   I vulch when able, as does everyone else.   But these guys are great bait, and had NO problems using me as bait either.  It was a win-win situation.  They are still class-acts, and it still sickens me that you continue this idiotic pontification.
