Well....I cant say that I blame him but he is in fact GUILTY of shooting himself in the foot on recorded tape. Let the brass....err....chips fall where they may.

More proof the DEA is a sad joke perpetrated on the American people. That they did not fire this loser blows my mind. It also makes me question the training they give these "agents" before they let them loose on the public.

Before I read the article, I thought to myself, "I bet he carries a Glock". Sure enough, it was a Glock .40.
His lawsuit is pretty stupid, though.

Glocks are definately NOT idiot proof.
Beware when you handle a Glock, it might actually have a BULLET IN THE CHAMBER muhahahahaha :cry
Actually there is an old chinese saying "treat every gun as if IT WERE LOADED" muhahahaha :cry
-
Don't shoot yourself in the foot with an unloaded gun if you don't want to be the laughinstock :rofl :lol
-
dude just couldn't handle being in front of a classroom full of admiring students...
... just like the young helicopter pilot some years ago who was delivering a package to an all girls college forgot himself while walking from his chopper surrounded by an admiring audience of young women ... walked right up a slight rise in the lawn and got the top of his head sliced off. Both should have known better.
I saw this DEA video some time ago. This guy is obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed.

buddy of mine has a friend whos a copper....
was taking out his motorcycle the other day, on the way to work.
police issue glock on the right hip, "unloaded" clip removed on the left hip.
bit of wetness on the driveway, gives it some gas, and bike does a 360, dumps him on his side, and BAM... shot a round through the front tire.
lucky as he11 he didn't shoot himself in the leg, neighbors called in a gunshot, he had to report himself, and got repirmanded for it.

Yep, you can shoot yourself with a Glock, as well as 100s of other models of firearms. Nothing would have prevented this except safe/safer handling of the firearm. He pulled the trigger with a live round in the chamber while holstering the firearm. The firearm did what it was designed to do. No mechanical device is 100% idiot proof and this guy was real close to being 100% idiot....

The shooting occurred moments after Paige told the children that he was the only person in the room professional enough to carry the weapon.
This is one of my favorite arguements to hear from pompous police officers who think that private citizens should not be armed.
I've been handling and shooting firearms since I was eight years old. (over 30 years)
Never shot myself, nor anyone else for that matter.
So, who's the 'professional' that should be the only one trusted with a gun? He's just plain stoopid lucky he didn't shoot a kid!
Thanks but I'll trust in my own abilities before I trust in those of Special Agent Einstein there.
Operative word in his case must be 'special'.
-
Someone should find and post the video of this tard.
The part after he shoots himself and then reachers for the m4 is great, the whole class screams.
-
He's suing the DEA for releasing the tape, not for actually shooting himself.
If I were the defense during the trial, I would just show the video hundreds of times to random people err, "witnesses" and ask what they think.
-
Yeah, this tape made the rounds here more than a year ago, I think.
Funny that he shot himself, funnier that he still tried to teach the class, funniest the classroom's reaction when he went for the AK.
-
You can find the video here. (http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/view?&h=105&w=140&type=msmedia&rurl=barkernews.blogspot.com%2F2005%2F04%2Fdea-agent-shoots-self-in-foot.html&vurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.firearmscoalition.org%2Fmultimedia%2Ffootshot.wmv&back=_adv_prop%3Dvideo%26va%3Ddea%2Bagent%2Bshoots%2Bhimself%26fr%3Dslv1-wave%26ei%3DUTF-8&turl=scd.mm-so.yimg.com%2Fimage%2F1796866604&name=footshot.wmv&no=3&tt=3&p=dea+agent+shoots+himself&oid=84dcdcc5303a07c4&size=3.2MB&dur=169)
It does not look like he was even holstering it, he puts his other hand on it and it goes off. The guy is an even bigger retard.
I don't think the other rifle is an AK.

The DEA in my limited experience with them aren't all that bright. They showed up at my house one night with an arrest warrant for some woman I never saw before (or since). At one point one of the agents says...Our informant told us she lived in a pink mobile home. So I say....just a second....and step out the front door with the DEA agents following me. I start looking all over the outside of our mobile home and one of the agents says.....what the *bleep* are you doing? I said.....I'm looking for some pink paint. He says.....oh..we have a smart arse on our hands....I said...no, we have a bunch of color blind morons on my property.
Our home is dark red mind you.....
-
DEA, ATF, TSA, DHS, may they all suck ****** **** in hell.
-
The video was hilarious.
Not verbatim,but something like this...
"I'm the only person I know of in this room professional enough to carry the Glock .40. I'm BLAM!!! "
-
that was hillarios.

if that story is true, what did they do after it was found they were at the wrong residence?
-
Not too bright indeed.... I wasn't aware that it was SOP for the 'best undercover agent' to give speeches and lectures in broad daylight... It doesn't make much sense, unless drug dealers have the memory span of a goldfish

Surrounded the perimiter with Bradleys and played bad 80s hair band music at 170db.
-
Does this mean that all the idiots featured on COPS now can sue the various departments for releasing the vidio's showing what dumazzzs they are?
shamus
-
so his lawsuit contends that it's not his fault (for being an idiot) that he's now a joke and an embarassment, but it is the DEA's fault for releasing the film that just shows what honestly happened?
amazing.
kind of reminds me of I guy I used to work for who said I was trying to make him look like an idiot.
"No, you got that covered. I'm just pointing it out to anyone who may have missed it."
-
its funny he shoots himself in the first place, but he sticks around bleeding on the floor to finish his talk. Then after a while he just sneeks (limps) out LOL.
-
lol...his career SHOULD be over and he deserves to be a laughing stock.
He is a bufoon who endangered his and anyone in the rooms' life.

It is true. It took less than 5 minutes to give them a tour of our home and show them that the woman they were looking for was not here. They were in my home for almost an hour. They woke up my daughter (she was 3 or 4 at the time) by shining a flashlight directly in her face after I specifically asked them not to. I even told them it was a young child and which direction she was laying so they could avoid waking her up. The bad part about waking her up was.....they had their guns pointed at her and scared the crap out of her.
30 minutes after they arrived, they still had their guns out and pointed at me. There were also agents in my yard with M-16's and shotguns.
During the time they were here, I was interrogated (imo) and threatened with physical harm by multiple agents. Another taunted me repeatedly to *take my best shot*.
They wouldnt leave until I picked up the phone and dialed 911 to contact the county sheriff's to have them removed.
At least imo....once they had served their warrant and found out the woman was not here, they no longer had any legal buisiness in my home.
Mind you....all of the *crap* they dished out that night was AFTER I had given them the tour of our home.
When they did finally leave, one of the agents said.....we'll be back and next time you are gonna pay. They have never been back since ;)

Thats the **** the liberal and conservitives in this country should both be freaking out about.
The DEA is a sad joke and should be disbanded. If the ******* in the video is typical of their training they should not be alowed out in public armed. Well, without atleast someone like a boyscout, since they atleast got basic gun safety taught to them.
-
The DEA should sue him for ruining their image. As bad as they might be, I can’t imagine anything that could make them look less professional than that buffoon.
