i wish, i wish i wish i wish, that subscribers could host an H2H room larger than 8 people.
sometimes it's really nice to get away from the MA, and set up an H2H room, and i think, seeing as we do pay, it would be nice for subbers to have maybe up to 32 players in a room. maybe make it so that only subscribers can enter a room larger than 8, but please, it shouldnt be too hard to do, and it would be really fun:aok

Good idea, Poo, I second that motion....
Another thing, it would be nice to have the faculty of setting up passwords for H2H rooms.

RAIDER14 your upside down again!!!!
You mean this ...

raider doesnt like it because he's a freeloader and wouldnt be allowed to use it :D
seriously, a subcribers only max player limit of 32 would be really great:aok
dunno how it would be implimented for us though. maybe make it so only subscribers can see the rooms over 8, or make it so they can see it, but aren't allowed to enter, just like right now you cant enter the online arenas without subbing.
i just think it would be really cool to do, setup our own room, larger than just 8 people. it would be a valuable tool for squads, training, for filming stuff, just for everything, and i think (and hope) that it wont take to much time to program, as it's using the same mechanism as the online arenas are currently using
please HT?
would be so cool!!!!

Suppose HTC did allow 16 player rooms for subscribers.
Or even 32 for a nominal extra charge (just a thought)
How does that help HTC?
He either has to allow everyone full access to those rooms.
Which could have a negitive impact on new subscriptions.
Or he has to limit them to paying members only.
In which case he has a whole new can of worms to
deal with.
Either way it doesn't make sense from HIS point of view to bother.
You want more than 8 people in a room, go online.
-
but online, you cant set up the room yourself
it would be just the same as H2H, all it would take is a little coad editing, to allow a max of 32 instead of 8, for paying members only
it shouldnt affect anything, it would be as though no change had occured, because the freeloaders can still only use the 8 player rooms, infact if you dangle even more infront of them, such as subber's only 32 player rooms, they have even more reason to subscribe
HT shouldnt need to do anything admin wise, it'll all be player controlled
-
Poof, its more then " a little coading" - HTC will have to provide the service, has the legal issues, has to provide the server/bandwith. And Ghosth is right: Give all H2H players access to the rooms? Or only paying customers (which then would include a new login screen with confirmation of account, CC info and PW before entering etc etc. And what doe HTC GAIN from that? Apart from you being happy for 2 or 3 weeks?
-
humphh...
well, i guess he doesnt gain anything, but it would be fun:(
since when did this game become about abndwidth though? i thought H2H was mainly run through other people, not HTC, and when you log into the MA, you never need to give CC info. same with H2H, you need to log in, it would be just the same. all you do is take the code from the online servers that doesnt let any freeloaders in, and you apply that to rooms over 8 people.
i dont really understand why it would be so hard, and i really dont understand why people would be opposed to it. it doesnt do anything accept increase the fun for those that use it.
maybe HT himself could explain it:(

I think H2H doesn't actually connect to HTC for account status or use the HTC servers, not sure but...
The proposal is a sticky one though, how do you validate the account, and would the 32player H2H only be available to players with accounts, or just the player hosting needs to have an account?
I don't see it making sense for HTC to do it.
Why not just use the dueling arena?
-
the DA doesnt work so well now that KS is off, and we cant change things in the DA. H2H does not connect to HTC, it goes through other players PC's
only subscribers would be allowed to enter and host rooms larger than 8. it wouldnt be hard to do, it would only really envolve copying the code that is already in place for the online arenas, making rooms larger than 8 people unuseable for freeloaders.
not hard to code, it's really just editing.
-
the password on the arenas would be great, because everyone in H2H cant read PRIVATE!!! for some reason, but it would b nice even if they bumped the limit up to nine, because some hosts go AFK and it leaves one team being screwed over all the time, and also the host should be able to give 1 player "host abilities" (eg. ejecting, changing plane sets, etc...) and the ability to ban players IP, cuz some people have multipul accounts and 1/2 of the accounts are newu's

only subscribers should be allowed to join the room to stop the freeloaders benefitting from it.
-
Disable H2H and only offer it to paying subscribers. If the freeloaders want to play, they play offline.
-
you make it so that any room over 8 is only available to subscribers, no freeloaders can host or join one. easy to do, and uses the same bit of code that keeps freeloaders out of the online arenas. all you do is set a parameter for a block to come on for freeloaders that is activated in any room over 8 people :)
great resource H2H, but it isnt used because the rooms are so small. PLEASE HT???????????
-
I never tried the "Locked" function in h2h, but i think that is the solution to "private".

How many people that are registered do you see in H2H?? maybe 1 or 2, and some ppl just dont have the cash to pay for MA, do you ever think of that?? :furious

Yes, yes they did think of that. After having read a lot of the posts on this BBS of the past year & a half or so I would even venture a guess that....are you ready for this Nemeth....That is the very reason they said it! A whole bunch of these guys want the cost to go back up to $6 an hour instead of the more affordable $15 a month just to cut down on the "riff-raff"
I had to do some serious thinking before I decided to shell out $180 a year for a stupid game that only works when it wants too & a large percentage of the players are ego maniac butt-holes. I know I wouldn't shell out $6 an hour for it. My old pappy told me many a year ago that "a product is only worth what some damned fool will pay for it!"
So I guess in that sense, AHII is well worth $6 an hour - more actually.
But; soon as they decided to up the price to get rid of the "riff-raff" there would be someone who thought the cost should be higher to get rid of even more of them. Soon, only Bill Gates, Micheal Bloomberg & Micheal Dell would be in the MA sipping drinks & saying, "it sure is boring in here"
As far as the guys in here are concerned they are paying the bill so you can play H2H for free; & in a way I agree with them. Think of it like this; if none of us paying customers were paying our monthly bill, would Hi Tech Creations have a free H2H for you to play?
In closing; don't try to get any of these fellows to feel for you or your situation because they just aren't going to.
-
im not trying to get people to feel for me, i dont care how people feel about me, im just saying that there are more less fortinate people out there. and yes i thank HTC for giving us free H2H, and i kno they wont change the 8 person limit, althou it would be really nice, but id rather have the ability to lock a room, cuz having people join while having squad training, get really annoying after a while

nemeth, what we would like is to see a larger limit on numbers in H2H, but make it so only paying customers can enter those larger rooms. you would still be able to play in the 8 player rooms, but you wouldnt have any access to the larger ones:aok
works well, i dont think it would be too had to code, and it could be a really useful tool for things likie filmmaking, tournaments, things like that.:)
-
Why would anybody be opposed to it. The way I see it is we are already getting a little ripped off. We pay $15 a month for a game that was intended to be updated every month with new planes and upgrades, and in the 9-10 months Ive been playing I have only seen 1 new vehicle and that upgrade on the spits,190s and B17, I understand it takes a long time to do all this stuff but as a teenager it takes me twice as long to pay for it. I have to work ALOT to pay my bills and still have money left over to pay for AH which is pretty much the only thing there is to do around my house unless I feel like picking up pine cones. And that $6 an hour thing, Thats freaken crazy!! I would only be able to play for 3 hrs a month and that is definately not worth it. Why play a game that cost more than you earn at work? People would quickly find a substitute for AH if it was that expensive. So in my mind the 32 player h2h is the very least HT could do for those of us who work our prettythanges off to pay for it :furious
Pooface although you do shoot me down alot I totaly back you up on this one:aok
