Title: animal rights protesters get a taste of their own medicine
Post by: eagl on April 15, 2006, 02:22:03 AM
This had me laughing.  Animal rights protestors intending to protest and disrupt controlled seal hunting found themselves on the receiving end of the exact same tactics they've been using for many years.  They didn't seem very pleased.

Turnabout is fair play, right?  Serves them right IMHO.

Animal-rights activists said they were harassed by protesters...

"Harassed by protesters".  Nice.  WTF do they think THEY DO?  Talk nice and buy the hunters coffee on their way to the clubbings?  Hypocrites...:aok

They sat on the floats of our helicopters," Aldworth said. "We couldn't leave because if we started up the helicopter, the blades could have hurt somebody."

Priceless. :rofl

They obtain an arrest order by the UN security council and the seal pups are humanly arrested by soldiers in blue helmets and fluffy pink mittens made by the finest sheeps wool. When safely taken care of they are transported in limos to a first class hotel and given an injection that makes them go to "sleep"

Pretty misleading of CNN to have a picture of a seal pup there, seeing as they aren't hunted any longer.

Poor peacefull clubbers.

I wouldnt feel any pain if they kill some clubbers.

This was the Humane Society, not PETA.  I haven't heard of them doing the type of crap that PETA does...have I just missed it somewhere?

That is absolutly terrible.  I would have found a way to protest the protesters witha high pressure fire hose or somthing.

The myth is that the seals are clubbed/stunned, then skinned.

I'd like to know the truth about this, because my country as well as our neighbours in Greenland have had some trouble with animal friends because of this.
Now both us, and the Greenlanders, shoot the seals and use both meat and fur. The numbers involved are also minimal compared to those posted here.

So are they shot or stunned??????

If they are still stunned and skinned (it WAS that way) I'd bloody well consider joining PETA.
