I did a search on google to figure out where, if at all, i could pay the feds on line. I always get money back, this year Im getting the shaft.
What site on the net should I use? Im worried some aren't legit, as with any site on the net you give money to. :(

go to http://www.irs.gov, and find the link. It opens a list of websites to do it.
I used turbo tax online, but you have to go through the irs site it said. They want 30 bucks to do your state tho, so I did federal and I'll do state over the phone.

I have to second the TurboTax nomination. I use them every year, have for 6 or 7 years now. Their setup takes you through the entire thing, covers all the bases, prints out all the forms already filled out for you for your records, efiles, saves your information in their online vault and lets you import your info next year to save time. I pay em an extra 20 bucks each year and they guarantee me audit protection too. I figure with all the moving around I've done and as screwed up as my records get sometimes, its worth it to have some help if the IRS ever comes after me.
On top of that, they get me more back than a live tax preparer has ever done.

Urchin, try statetaxfreedom.com. If your state participates and you qualify (if you qualify for fed, you can probably use state too), you get both free. It's stupid... if you go to taxfreedom.com, you get Fed free and they try to charge you for state, if you do statetaxfreedom.com you can get both free. Both use Turbotax.

And turbotax has links if you go in from the frontend, but you HAVE to access their software from the tax freedom project side, or they cant do it for free. In other words, you have to ask for it, they cant offer it. Sorry I forgot to mention that. I used it myself plenty of times.
