I have been watching this entire season on NHL center ice, from its miserable start, false hopes, more misery, and then some more misery. If it wasn't for Sidney Crosby, it would have been a complete waste of money.
But, tonight, I got to see him get his 100th point. He is the youngest player to ever do this, and is only the 7th rookie to do it.
All I have to say is, I hope this team stays in Pittsburgh and I hope this kid named Sid has a long and healthy career.
:D :aok

Ya..he's very impressive
beautiful skater, great stick handling and passing, tough in the corners and can score
this kid is one of those that comes along every ten years

Hockey is a communist sport just like soccer and professional baseball and baseketball.

Dunno if I'd say much much better, although definately Ovechkin is better at this stage in the game... But five points is not that much ;)
Then again, Crosby has "it" - that same thing Lemieux had... Ok, the first home game after Lemieux retires (against the Caps btw) Crosby goes on a rampage and the Penguins win 8-1. Last night, the last home game of the season, Crosby needs three points to grab 100 in front of the home crowd, and he pulls it off. A shootout a few months ago - home game - all shooters miss, Crosby is last of three Pens to go - he buries it, and Mellon Arena erupts.
You can tell when he's going to have a great game. He's just one of those players that, to put it as best as I can, should probably have the same effect on kids throughout the world (hopefully, someday, including my own), as Lemieux had on me.

Crosby is a whiney little *****. Ovechkin is much better.

So was Gretzky, Lemieux, hell, probably Ovechkin too, if he could speak the language. Besides, he has cleaned that up quite a bit the last half of the season.
Anyway, the kid's 18. Two years younger than O, and only 5 points behind. Give him some time to mature a bit more and you'll change your tune - no winger's going to break Gretzky's records. A smart center could.

Ah, that explains it :D
Though, in fairness, even if O wasn't yer guy you'd probably still dislike the Pens & Crosby... All those heartbreaking multiple overtime playoff losses of past years :D :p
I will never forget the time one of your guys was being a pipsqueak to Lemieux in overtime during one of those playoff games. Lemieux chases him down from behind, slashes him (hard) to get him to turn around, promptly tackles him, and starts beating the life outta him lol :D 95-96 I think it was... :aok

considering neither of the 2 appear to have a team around them, thats pretty darn impressive for them to break 100 pt barrier. just imagine if they had anything resembling a team.
although, being from pittsburgh, ill take syd. :aok

Crosby... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz
C'mon ride the Cheechoo train. :)

Funked you owe me a beer for being a poor Bruins fan. You guys definitely got the better end of that deal.

Not to change the subject (for very long) or anything but, ahhh.... playoff season.
Any bets this year?
The last run cost me a hundred bucks to Bodhi... and I was so pissed off about it that I taunted him by including a can of good maple syrup, a Canada ball cap, a Calgary Flames Stanley Cup pin, and some other crap I can't remember. That'll teach him a lesson.
Is anyone in the Disneyland area feelin' lucky against my Calgary Flames?

Either Ottawa or NJ for the East, dunno about the West... I'll be cheering for NJ in the playoffs for the next few years :)

But they gave me a little plastic souvenier Stanley Cup on Opening Day?
Anyway, as a Pens fan let me assure you - that lockout needed to happen.

Sturm and Stuart are first rate players, but Joe is the MVP. Best passing center I've seen since Gretzky.

i totally agree. thorton held the team (scoring wise) together like glue. glen murray looked absolutely awful without him there
he's made Cheechoo into a dangerous scorer for sure. im going to buy a sharks #19 jersey sometime in the offseason and wear it to a bruins game next year

Staal also hits the 100 mark. :aok
