Well if its ok to trash the 4th,5th and 6th in the name of security why not the 2nd?

Well Shamus, put up then. Wraq at least posted links to support his position. You have posted, what? If you disagree then fine but at least do something other than a personal attack.

Im sorry Maverick I guess my position precludes me from responding to a personal attack with one of my own eh?

This has been gone over again and again, I posted my opinion and I'm not going to post a bunch of links trying to convince some that like to pick and choose what  rights are important depending on if they might apply to them or not.

Last time I checked I still had all my rights guaranteed by the consititution.

It would seem so................  To some... the latest laws put on the books to save us from terroist also remove some of our rights.

I for one object.  It further seems if you say some of the things said by the founders of our country about the time of the revolution (1770's) you will be arrested for terrorism today.

In an apocolyptic or anarchic situation... the only amendment that will do you any real good is the second.... that is why it was put there in the top two...

N,O. is another reason to buy a gun and join the NRA...the NRA got all those peoples guns returned to them and is working to get laws passed that will make it illegal for what happened there to ever happen again.

If you are a gun owner or even believe in second amendment rights and don't belong to the NRA then shame on your selfish and useless butt.

Laz,

The NRA sued and won a judgement to return the siezed guns. To date, not one has been returned. The Chief of Police insists he needs a background check to return them and there is no system in place for them to conduct them. This was from the latest N. O. news update from the NRA. The NRA is going back to court to get them moving on it and is trying to get a fine per day for nagle for non compliance with a court order.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out.
