saw a documentary on the 777, they said the 777's eng housing is as big around as a MD-80's body.

heheh depends who you're flying with ! certainly not with Lauda.. cause they change the interior completely every other year ... to be able to aford that they save on our salary tho ..

Those Triple 7's are huge suckers....I watched one emerg-land here in St Johns, heard that plane before I saw it, it wasn't great vis that day (less than 2 miles) and with a low ceiling.  All I saw first were these landing and nav lights SOOOOO far apart it looked like two planes flying in formation...  Next thing I know this grey shadow materialized from the grey mist, gradually revealing one of the biggest planes I've ever seen.  The wingspan on this baby is truly something to behold from directly below.
