My wife's taking her road test on monday. Does anyone know where to find the Road test items for us to practice over?

Driving in California eh? The local pistol range should suffice.
-
Requirements for driving in California (especially women):
Drive the biggest SUV you can get your hands on.
Never leave more than 7 feet between you and the vehicle in front (five feet if you are doing more than 80mph).
When it rains under no circumstances should you adjust your normal driving style.

You left out:
Always drive 15 miles faster than the flow of traffic.
Never put more than one hand on the wheel. You need at least one hand free for the cellphone.
Do not use turn signals.

Ya know... compared to the drivers in DC, I'll take LA. At least in LA, they have a good healthy fear of being shot if they're driving like an ass.
They don't suffer the same inhibitions in DC.

:rofl :rofl :rofl
I consider it a good day at work if I am nearly runned over by a soccer mom in her Monstrosity brand SUV only once.

Well LOL - I had to get a California driving licence... er, I mean driver's license - quite some years ago now. I got all the info from the local DMV office. I was transferring from IL though, and only had to do the written, not the road test, but all the info was in the handbook they gave me.
Pei! LOL - the Californian drivers I knew were terrified of rain. In fairness, I should say not without reason. It practically never rains at all from May to Sept., and doesn't rain much in the other months, except Feb/March when it can piss down, so they're not used to it. After so long without rain, there will be an oil build up on the road surfaces which is hazardous when wet. It takes a while for the rain to wash it away. The other problem is that many of their freeways are constructed from that concrete stuff, not tarmacadam. Stopping distances are a lot longer on concrete - especially when wet - and there's a lot more tyre noise. So I can see why they don't like driving in rain.

Just the basics. on or under speed limit. Turn. Waiting 3 seconds at stop signs (hint look left right lift then go) The biggies here though are merging and backing up was hard for me. no more paralell parking on thest so you lucked out.
GL!

Gotta admit Southern California drivers are probably the best drivers in the world. Better than 99% of them make it to where they are going while drinking a double mocha half fat half non fat cappacino, talking on the cell phone, doing makeup, (even the guys) and they are still able to return fire.

it's been a while sinc I had a driving test, but I doubt much has changed. They wnt to make sure drivers use their mirriors, turn signls and observe posted laws. Also they look for safe following distances, and that the driver is looking for the "unexpected"
As for what to expect to be asked to perform- I'd advise thet the driver is very confident with parralel parking, 3 point turn around, and backing in a strait line.

Unless in the far left lane of an interstate then the rule is 15mph slower than the flow of traffic.

Well, thankfully the Navy will pay for the education part. Did the practice items, especially straight backing up. Thankfully Honda's are cheap to finance and operate.

If you have a pulse the DMV practically throws a DL at you. Atleast in NC. The roads are proof of this practice.
