Title: how about adding this to 262 loadout?
Post by: Bombardy on April 20, 2006, 11:14:19 PM
as stated in the ultimate authority on all things, these rockets were used on 262's (and I think they are already an option on our FW190-F8) and could be an easy modification to do and still create something new and interseting for buff hunting jets.

hell, I know I hate making passes on B24's at any angle in a 262, the thing is like a walking "pilot wound" machine

here the link:

Wikipedia link to anti-aircraft rockets mounted on 262's (http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/04/20/georgia.plane.ap/index.html)

seems they could be quite successful if fired at about 600m -

woo hoo!!!

I think he's talking about R4M rockets. You could carry 24 of them (2 boxes, 1 under each wing) and they decimated bombers horribly, when used. I think they had a range greater than 600, though.
Title: YES YES YES!!!
Post by: Bombardy on April 21, 2006, 10:17:13 PM
YES the R4M rockets are the ones I am talkig about and they were certianly were not unusual or obscure field mod

here's the link, sorry about the first link I posted, it was totally wrong

Wikipedia link on R4M rockets for 262 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R4M_rocket)

according to the data on wikipedia, they were designed effective to about 100 meters but actually 600meters turnd out to be the range in real life to obtain decent results

A battery typically consisted of two groups of 12 rockets, and when all 24 were fired at once they would fill an area about 15 by 30 m at 1000 m, dense enough that one was almost certain to hit its target.(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3c/R4M.jpg)

Why they are only for a perk aircraft anyway. If your willing to spend perks for the plane why not with air to air ords as well. We already have air to air on 110 , and 190 whats the big diff?

then we might as well add sabre jets and Migs
Title: how about adding this to 262 loadout?
Post by: Bronk on April 22, 2006, 09:06:30 AM
Why, there were no sabre and mig 15s in ww2 . But there were 262s equipped with this air to air system. Rare yes ,but it's already perked. And like i also said we have air to air rockets now. As far as rare goes La7 with the 3 cannon is about as rare as it gets. Not to  mention the Ta 152 numbers .

make the me 262 with missile loadout twice or 3 times the amount of perks needed for a regular 262:aok

Raider they are not MISSELS they are however UNGUIDED ROCKETS. Huge difference. No need for a bigger perk only good for 1 shot . Did you even read the link. So you want to perk the 110 when it carries it's air to air rockets also?

Only a small number of aircraft were ever fitted with the R4M, mostly Messerschmitt Me 262s

so they mass produced

Whats your point?
If its the rare thing again , we already have some rare ac in the game .
See my previous post.
Please elaborate on your next objection as to why this shouldn't be added?

Not pertinent to the topic but I'll play.  I'd say anyone who has the perks and likes a change of pace every now and then. I usually up them against buffs.
As for the jet dweeb comment . I see you can't come up with a valid reason for not implementing this weapon system... So you now start the name calling. WTG  You now have revealed your intelligence lvl .
Do you even play in the MA?

quite a few actually raider, but you wouldnt know would you?? you're a little freeloader.

i really find it annoying that you turn your nose up at every idea here, despite the fact that your opinion isnt what we want, afterall, you dont pay, you dont deserve to state things that you dont understand.

get subbed up and fly in the MA, maybe we'll listen to you then

until then though, please shut up:aok

His ignorance and immaturity have nothing to do with the fact that he flies/flew HTH.

Subscription or not is NO basis for rejecting a player's ideas.

However, the MERIT of those ideas is, and it is the MERIT (or lack thereof) of raider's ideas in this post that have gotten him rejected.

Please leave the "freeloader" bull out of it. Reject him for his ignorance, not his subscription status.

Krusty
1. You are correct I pop into H2H on occasion and had some good fun . Flew with and against a couple of good and knowledgeable players.

2. The young man is ignorant (Note this does not mean stupid). What gets me is he won't look at info unless told. He wants us to explain it all for him.
This to me points out an unwillingness to learn. Sad really.

3. What i determine as freeloader might be a bit diff than Poofs.
People who host H2H and contribute to content such as yourself (before you renew account) are not freeloaders. People with the " gimme... gimme I want it all for free " are the freeloaders.
 See this  http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=176270
Just an example.

krusty, im not rejecting him on his subscription status, afterall, i have quite a few friends that came from H2H, and i used to play H2H for months. what i dont like is that he doesnt fly in the MA, yet he tries to tell us the things that go on in there, despite the fact that he cant possibly know what he's talking about.

and, we arent rejecting his ideas, he is rejecting our good ones, trying to come up with BS to stop us from getting them and saying things that he doesnt know at all.

he does it to almost every request on this forum and it's driving me mad lol

I hate jets in the game but it's really just a personal thing, if perkies weren't so easy to get and jets cost alot more I think I could support this load out along with the "bomber" role that most of em played.

Personaly i like the idea.
it would give the 262 a very nasty bite.

idea aside... wikipedia is far from a authoritative source, not saying the info is wrong in this particular instance... but I'd take anything I found on it with a grain of salt.

Soulyss is right about that. Wikipedia runs mostly off of anonymous user submissions. Often it's outright plagary from books, often it's wrong.
