Is anyone going to that show? Is it worth going there?
Antioch Gun Show
Contra Costa County Fairgrounds
1210 West 10th Street
Antioch, CA
-
Why? We have gun shows here (Houston) on a monthly basis it seems. Anything special going on there like topless female presenters or a free "shoot a magazine and see what ya think!" kind of thing going on?
-
Hey Russian - is that the kind of event at which criminals are able to stock up on guns?

No Beet, it`s more like the kind of place where enthusiasts, shooters, hunters, collectors and anyone interested in personal freedom to do so gather and have a good time.
Events such as this are enjoyed by those who haven`t willingly given up their personal freedom. You wouldn`t understand.

I haven't given up my personal freedom, willingly or unwillingly. :p :lol

Another usefull trick was learned by those from England from the cartoon ostrich. :)

you indeed have given up your freedoms willingly or unwillingly. You are not free to defend yourself with a firearm.
You simply are blind to the fact. That does not make it not a fact. If you wanted.... you couldn't.... you gave up that right if you agreed with it... if you didn't agree with it then that right was stolen from you by your government and/or a majority of your neighbors.
you had a right to keep and bear arms but it was not strong enough... it had a loophole and blind, senseless democracy screwed you.

No I didn't. You are not free to defend yourself with a firearm.
Never had a firearm. Nor did my parents... or my grandparents... or... you had a right to keep and bear arms but it was not strong enough... it had a loophole and blind, senseless democracy screwed you.
No, we never had a "right". We had no constitution to amend for a second time. It's true that there was once no law against guns - at a time before guns had been invented and therefore no legislation was necessary. The law was changed (in 1920) by a democratically elected government - a coalition government, part of which was reelected two years later. In 1997, Tony Blair's govt. imposed a "ban" on handguns - a nonissue which received little attention from the public at large. So irrelevant was it that TB has been reelected not once, but twice in the time since - in 2001 and 2005.

^ Leading example of a nebbish from the land of many nebbish. Fortunately they are not all like beetle, some have capacities beyond the common nebbish. Unfortunately I fear they are in the minority and dwindling.

Mav - the more I read your posts in which you pontificate about my country, the more I am led to believe that you have never been here. So answer me - have you ever been to the UK? A simple YES/NO answer is all that is required. One or the other. Don't try to be clever - it doesn't suit you.
-
Why are both parties so threatened by other’s way of life?
And can someone answer original question? Depending on that answer, I may go to that gunshow.
-
Russian - sorry for what happened to you thread, but note that at 5:50pm GMT, I merely answered Lazs's comments in a civilised way. The personal attacks began in the next post which, as you can see, was not mine. I am now unsubscribing from this thread. Hope you enjoy the gun show.

Actually, I don’t mind. Continue as you were.

Beetle,
Short answer, no. I also wouldn't consider a visit to make any change in opinions either. I would not expect a visit to your country to provide anything different, unless of course you are not an expert in britain, are not a true example of a british citizen / subject (whichever term you prefer to use) and have not been providing this forum with a true representation of british mores and opinion.
My remarks are frankly based on the shining example of britishness that you represent and your comments. Obviously you are the leading expert in britishness on the forum here and your examples and posts lead me to rather plain opinions which I have posted.
If nothing else I figure someone should respond to you and voice opinions of your country in much the same manner as you respond to folks from this country and show your disdain for it.

Russian, I hope the Antioch show is better then the San Jose one. It was pretty lame when I went to one a few months ago. No one was selling surplus ammo or ammo at a decent price. There were more dealers selling trinkets then guns. Was a big disappointment.
-
but Mak ..how were the Dolls??
btw..i love surplus ammo; )
back just 7 years ago seemed easy to get 1,ooo rds of .223 for $100

Thanks for reply.
I think I'll skip this then.
Maybe someday, we can get our O'Club group to Navada.

I need about 2000 of 9.2X18M, 2000 of 7.62x39 and maybe 1000 of 7.62x54R.

Russian I wanted to go but am working the whole weekend. Thanks for the post though.

How well does your new toy behave?
-
It works great. No malfunctions. The sights are a bit off, and will require adjustment. Once I figured out how to compensate for the sights, I put the last 40 rounds within a 5" circle. I bought the front sight adjustment tool and will get it zeroed next time out.
Next purchase is pistolet makarova. :)

beet... you are proof that visiting somewhere...even for years... does not mean that you know anything at all about the place or it's people.
Guns have been around for more than 100 years before 1920 and even after 1920 you could own em and defend yourself with em..
why lie about it? you lost your right... It matters not if you didn't care about it in the past or don't care about it at this moment.... if you wanted a gun next week..... you couldn't...
you have given away your rights and/or had them taken from you and nothing you say can change that.. It is illegal for you to own and keep much less carry, a firearm.... nothing you say can change that. Your government will throw you in prison if you ever decide to exercise your human right to arm yourself.

Beetle, I was wondering if you would please do me the honor of presenting why, exactly, you think the 2nd Amendment came to be? And, I suppose, why it still exists?
Feel free to post a link to a previous post if you'd like, or just copy it here, or come up with something fresh. I'm not picky.
I have my own opinions on the importance of the 2nd Amendment (I think it could be very well argued that it is the most important one), but I'd just like to hear yours.
I'm not trying to personal attack you, but it's just that when a gun control thread pops up (which I don't generally follow since I don't own a gun anyway), you're usually a guy who seems to pop up against firearms.

kikazz...mak..
