Title: Problems with custom sounds
Post by: Meatwad on April 22, 2006, 04:02:57 PM
I been trying to remove the tread sound from the M3 and the M16. I deleted the tread.wav from both of them but the tread sound is still there. How do I permanently get rid of it?

You cannot.

If you delete all the sound files, AH still has its own internal archive, and it will use them. I think that's how it works.

If in doubt go to the sound setup page in-game and select treads and see if it tells you the wav file name somewhere.

If youre just tryting to get rid of it all together, go into the sound settings in game and just turn the volume all the way down.

Had to do that with the 109 slats.

You could also replace the mentioned tread.wav sounds with ones that contain just silence.  Therefore not silencing every GV that uses treads.

I ende up turning the tread sounds down to 0.

I changed the VENG file to that of a 1966 turbo diesel deuce and a half. Sounds  alot better then the stock sound file
