>>S<< on a well planned and executed Mission.

FYI, the escorting 109's did an excellent job, keeping our Spits AWAY from the Bomber Stream.  Every time we got close enough to do anything, some pesky 109 made a nuisance of itself. :aok  I never did get into gun range of the Bomber stream.

Again, Well Done  :aok

Our escort was fantastic..again!  It was also nice to see JG44 come up and give much needed relief to our mission fighters. Without them we would have been alot worse off. The bombers dropped on target causing alot of damage, but alas, Churchill's cigar was the only casualty.  I wish I had put more fuel in the bombers and it turned out the 109s could have used 100% w/ DT instead of 75% w/ DT.

It was a long mission but the time flew by as we were constantly engaged to and from target. Sirb, Plantano were the surviving fighters of the mission, and MGD was the lone JU88 that made it back with 2 kills. The rest of us bailed or ditched, Brauno ditched but was rescued. I spent the night in a small town cell somewhere in souhtern England, before heading to interrogation in London this morning.

Thanks again everyone for taking part. I will be busy this week preparing for FSO this friday. If you arent familar with Friday Squad Ops, I suggest you get involved. Its the best part of AH for me. Find a squad that is involved and ask to join in with them. Many of the squads in FSO are hybrids of many squads, that just form a sqaud in there, so dont let that stop ya.

Looks for a mission later on this week, possibly Thursday night.

One of my drones had a fuel tank shot up early in the fight, then as luck would have it...the other lost an engine and went poof.  Then my main bomber exploaded...so I was left in an 88 with no fuel.

Was arrested by the shore patrol...an old man with a shovel.  He was a feisty fellow...

I had to bail right over the HQ, so I got nabbed by Regulars.

At least they blindfolded me before the beating started. :cry

The 109s did an outstanding job. I got two passes in on the bombers but only on one did I actually get to shoot. That was way out over the channel , then I got shooed away by 109s. I finnally got into icon range on the buffs after they made landfall over the UK. I see buffs and a 109 in the distance. I started getting 6 calls so I'm looking back, and cannot see the guy everybody is warning me about. I look forward and theres a 109 right in the middle of my windscreen. I jerk the stick the trigger my neck and suck up half a seat cushion. He was there and gone in a second because we were nose on each other.

Turned out to be Treize69 / White13 when I got the collision messege. I lost half a wing in the exchange but was able to get the bird down and ditch near a friendly base. I chanced one look back and it didn't look like White13's 109 was any worse for the wear. I gently eased that MKV down towards the weeds hoping he was too busy to worry about me.

Well Run Raid Luftwobbles.:aok

For some reason it felt sooo real.... i was 8 minutes left on fuel 18k up over the british coast heading for home with the spit patrol on my arse..... I got much needed relief and cover from my jg54 compadres (WildSeau and Tbarone) as i weeved through some Hispanos cannon tracers, unfortunately one got one of my elevators....  :cry

none the less i made it back to France, as i touched down i made my way to the hangar and right there my engine starved of dehydration and cut out. thats when  noticed that i almost broke my mic again jumpin up n down trying to evade spit patrol....

None the less VERY kewl and fun mission Filth:aok

I think I lost an elevator to that collision, e didn't hit very hard.

I'm too used to low-level fights, I forget that you dont get the snap reactions when you pull the stick way up there that you do down low. Tried to pull back and my tail hit your wing.

I got shot down later on chasing a couple of RAF fighters that were chasing one of our wounded fighters down. Neither one of us got out. :(

Unlike MGD, I did not get to land my 2 kills - as Filth stated, I ditched in the channel, but a passing E-boat picked up the crew of the two surviving bombers.

I was trying desperately to nurse the bombers back on minimum fuel, but the JG54 "traitor" N7 kept making a nuisance of himself (mercifully sans hizookas).  I ran out of ammo in the belly guns, which forced me to the deck to defend myself with the two dorsal guns.  I have to believe maintaining altitude could have just been enough to make it all the way back . . .

But its all good.  N7 paid for his treachery!

Correction ..yes..it was JG54 that came to help..not JG44, my mistake.

Great mission guys
Thought i was in on the 88's but ended up working my Saitek to death midway over the channel dodging 109s, was lucky to scrape out of that one.
Got nearer the coast and there was calls coming in about various 109s inb and folks dragging them to such and such, was just starting to draw breadth and think about rearming when a 109 comes in high 6, hard break turn and he was off to pester somebody else. Landed shortly without incident.
How long combat time did the 109s get over the UK ? I'm curious as I know it was a long flight.

20 Minutes IIRC. (Thats for the Me 109E without drop tank)

Not sure if that was Cruising Flight time or actual Throttle rammed all the way forward, engine screaming, Phasers on KILL, eyes bugged out, butt cheacks clenched, head like a radar dish, feet up on the instrument panel pulling to turn, minimum 100 cuss words per minute, too damn busy to worry about spilt beer, "Full Tilt Boogie Mode" Combat Time.  :D

Hey Treize69,

Do you remember trading shots in a HO with a Spit at alt that kept on going? I got good sprites on you on the pass and a collission message on "White 13" but nothing seemed to be damaged with either of us. I got an Asst. on you later as I was coming into land.

Good work to the guys that set this up, flew the bombers and to the Escort - you guys did your job well. Made 4 passes but never could get close to the bombers.

!  :aok
