Sorry if I'm getting way too ahead of myself but here goes!
How about having fleets where each vessel is independant and can be controlled seperately including movement etc. Might be fun to have that, perhaps with some kinda of auto rejoin the fleet option within controls where it would automatically go back to the CV and form off it, which leads my onto my next point - u-Boats Couldn't we have u-boats.
Would be cool to have a bit of a naval side to the game.
Just my 2p worth and YES i know this games meant to be primarily a flight combat sim but hey im just thinkin out loud :p
-
If you left the carrier alone with no escorts it would be a sitting duck
-
There is already a very well developed naval side of AH.
Lots of naval aviation
-
we could use some battleships though
-
no u boats/ subs but we need a Battleship how about the King George or something Get those british AA Pom Pom guns:D
-
I think a late war US BB would be a bigger AAA nightmare than a KGV.
-
(http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~scismfam/mccann/uss-iowa.jpg)
how bout the Battleship Iowa^
or the Battleship Texas v
(http://www.steelnavy.com/images/Texas/Texas%201943.jpg)
-
I think battleships & subs would both be a cool addition, but the spawn points would be vulnerable to CV campers if we had subs though unfortunately.:cry
-
Thats a lot of AA guns!
Dont we already have battle ships? If not, what kind of ships have the 8"ers and lead the CV groups?

Those are heavy cruisers..can't remember the class off the top of my
head.
-
For some reason I want to say Baltimore class, but I am probably wrong.
Battleships would have 14" to 18" guns, by the way, depending on which you were talking about. 8 inchers don't have nearly the punch. Imagine a ship launching 3 2000lb bombs from each of three turrets each shot, and you will see what I mean.
-
How about adding the Argo so I can use the WAVE MOTION GUN! DIEEEE!
:rofl
-
We want the Iowa WITH the Tomahawks and Harpoons ......LOL

Would be nice, but you have to think about it. If we get subs, Aces High has to re-configure the "Gun Ship/Field Gun" to allow "depth charges". Otherwise there will be no beating the subs unless they peek out at the surface! And don't forget the SONAR. How would aces high put that in the game?

Battleships wouldn't be much different than the heavy cruisers we have now. I doubt they would model a one of a kind battleship anyway, if they added them it would be as a "class" of ships rather than an individual one of a kind like the Bismark or Yamato.
-
battleship is rare
CA and DD was most common ships in any fleet
why plug ships in to AH and perk it?
much beter is first give somthing you can earn perks in
-
I'm not going to search for it, Ya'll can, But around 2002, give or take a few months, Hitech, in an Interview, stated "Subs" were something He wanted, and they were being "developed". So, as far as I am Concerned, If He can figure out the coding for the Subs, he can figure out the coding for Destroyers to Attack Subs, and or Capitol Ships (BB's) to Become the Admirals Ride and Fleet's Lead Ship.
I have no Idea as to the Timeline He did this, My Memory is likely Faulty. Just mentioning He Did Express an Interest in something like this, a Few years ago, in an Interview.
Have fun with it.
