Title: Rumsfeld
Post by: Hawklore on April 24, 2006, 06:06:57 AM
I heard he sent thouse 6 generals back to Iraq.

Made some smart bellybutton remarks, etc.

Anyone got a link to a video of it?

From what my mom tells me he said, I'm really pissed.

I thought those generals that slagged Rumsfeld and wanted him to quit  were retired from the services.

Are these the same generals?

Rumsfeld might want to drop them in a deep hole, but how could he send them to Iraq?

I suggest you do a LOT of reading ON YOUR OWN. KNOW what you are "really pissed" about, rather than guessing. The Internet is there for you to use to inform YOURSELF. Use it, but use it wisely.

The Secretary of Defense cannot send a RETIRED general back to combat. Just so you know.

Two things I know.

Never in history have ALL the commanders in an army agreeed with decisions that were made above their pay grade.

Rarely in history have commanders gotten the amount of men & meterial they wanted to accomplish a mission.

Typically on a personel level it puts the commanders in an enviable position.

If they win they look great and did so in spite of not getting what they wanted.

If they loose they can say "I told you so"

Rummy is doing a great job of playing chew toy of the week.
Operation "Take The Heat off". :)
I love to watch this guy in live debates and press conferences.
Just wish he could hold up "Pwned" and "Owned" signs every time he makes a bozo out of one of the sheep.

She said he was supposedly 'un-retiring' them.

Or atleast he mentioned that he should,

"They want more men in Iraq? Well their both un-retired, and I've put 12 more boots on the ground, their paratrooping into Iraq -so and so-, and they won't get their body armor till June 2007."

Nice leap from 1965 to 1999.

What about Panama,Grenada & Iraq?...What about  selling arms to Iran at the same time suppin' Iraq with chemical weapons(WMD) & providing them with AWACS recon for their airforce?

Olliver North is tape recorded(in a hotel in europe) saying to Iranian diplomats how "We want Iraq to be the new enemy"..as he negotiates arms for hostages(illegally)

You remember that?..prolly not.

When was the last invasion of another nation by a USA Democrat govt?..in your lifetime?

There is a difference btwn invasion & intervention btw...just ask Nuke.

The jump was due to listing only Demo interventions.

Vietnam, Panama, the DR and Yugoslavia come to mind.

And traditions usually start before one's lifetime.

the difference between invasion & intervention... spelling?

Had you said it was an "Amercan tradition" I would have had no basis for argument.

I suppose that meant something, but I was pointing out that virtually every administration since McKinley has practiced interventionist foreign policy, regardless of party affiliation.

To blame the policy on being a tradition of the Republicans is to deny half the picture.

Invasionism is a Republican tradition...fully supported by the "Millitary Industrial Complex"
