just got this new stick out of the box and spend an evening installing and messing around with the profiler.
Now how do I get AH to recognize half of the sliders and rotary knobs?
-
firstright click on the Saitek profile icon and selectt he profile you created for AH.
the profiler icon should get a green box around it
start ah
inside AH go to jstick setup
you should see the x52 in the left window. click it then click set all inputs
then calibrate the stick & throttle inside ah
should be good to go then

Be sure to test the sliders & knobs to be sure they work, I had a bad mode switch on my first one & had to RMA it.

well, everything seems to be working....I've got the knobs for roll and pitch trim.......can't figure out what to do with the slider, though.
I can't quite seem to get the hang of the 'band' concept for knobs and sliders....can anyone give me an example of that?
-
use slider as rpm, works well for me
as fo band
if you have full range of knob or slider turn, you can divide 360 deg for parts, for each part (range of turn) you can assign key press
I did that for slider in IL2/PF for zoom views

An epiphany! (I think)
Understanding how the profiler interacts with AH helps.
Mmmmm.....I'm getting geek-i-fied here
-
profiler works like virtual keyboard
each key(or combination of keys) from regular keyboard can be assign to any button on the stick , or slider/knoob turn.
Using profiler and pushing keys on stick is same as pushing them on keyboard

The slider or knob in band mode has to be assigned to a keypress such as map zoom or view zoom.....something where you would normally press and hold, right?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have an X52 related question;
Since the last update, my mouse cursor (which I use as a gun sight for better viz) goes into drunken hobo mode at certain points in AH. To fix it, I have to unplug my stick, re-insert it and reload my profile.
Has anyone else had this issue with the 52 and if so, how can it be resolved?
-
lol...my magic mouse just stopped working all together. I had this problem when first setting up my stick & now I can't remember how I fixed it. I thought I had loaded an older driver, but apparently not as neither driver fixed my problem. I never used it anyway.

On my old PC my x52 ad 2 8-pos hat switches. Now I can't get more than 4 positions out of hat 2. I've never used the profiler. I just created a stickmap and it worked pretty well. I can't remember what I did on old PC to get AH to see all 8 positions on 2 hats.
In the profiler, when I rtclick on hat 2 it's set to 4 positions. I changed it to 8. Still, each of the diagonals are disabled.
This is beginning to bite. two flights - two deaths because I cant see above the canopy. Does anyone know of a text/tutorial that explains how to use a Saitek x52 w/ AHII? I've followed the advice on every post I've found here but it's not working

Use the profiler to get 8-way it's easy.
