I saw part of the second half. I couldn't believe the "marking tactics" deployed by VillaReal. Overall impression was that Arsenal didn't have enough men forward when on the offensive, and kept running into a formidable VR defence.
-
Arsenal didnt need to go for it as they had the 1-0 lead from the first leg, Villarreal did. Arsenal set out with 1 up front and a 5 man midfield. I thought their defence was far from formiddable, was just that Arsenal never really got into gear, nor did they need to attack - as you say they were not getting careless and throwing players forward leaving ourselves vunerable for the counter attack.
was far from a great performance from Arsenal but they did the job. thats 10 games in a row, in the Champions League, without conceding a goal.

So there will definitely be a French side in the final?
-
Soccer is an ok sport to play, but I still don't know how you can watch it.

Lol! :lol And I say that as an ex-Arsenal fanatic.

Too bad Arsenal will lose the final to FC Barcelona...
-
yeah... i never expected to win the thing. we have done brilliantly getting to the final with such a young team.
besides, maybe... just maybe... we will win it.
-
The first team ever from London to make it to the final (European Cup, Champions League). Or something...
Still, Arsenal isn't a match for this season's Barcelona. But then again, Liverpool won last year, so I guess everything's possible. :)

Even a Finnish team making it into the European cup final one year?
....................nah. :t
Besides, Arsenal have already outplayed Juventus and Real Madrid this season, so it is not like we are out of our depth. I still dont think we will win it, but on our day we are a match for anybody.

Get real. :P :D
With a motivated Ronaldinho, Messi back, and Eto'o doing what he always does, it'll be a cold day in hell before Arsenal wins the Champions League :P
But football is football... ;)

They are no better than Henry, Bergkamp, Reyes, Pires, Ljungberg, Fabregas, Van Persie....

The only Englishman on the field was Campbell and he's bent.

Now wait a second here...that sounds like me complaining that the Oklahoma football team has a bunch of Texans on it. I thought you guys were all one big happy family over there, one currency one flag...:huh

One currency, one flag?
If you mean the EU, the UK isn't in the common currency area, and the EU is not like the USA - membership is not an end to sovereignty. Membership can be ended by a member at any point.
I wouldn't mind if they actually included a few Britishers in their squad once in a while, even if they were Welsh.
