Title: Sounds
Post by: WldThing on April 27, 2006, 11:51:19 AM
On a recent up I noticed that under extreme stalls my plane would frantically shake.  Now is there any way to get rid of the accompanied sound? Maybe someone knows the direct name in the sound directory.

Its the stall buffet. AFAIK you cant get rid of the shaking, but the sound can be tuned down in SETUP > PREFERENCES > GameSounds: Find "Stall Buffet" on the list and tune it down as low as you need. I got mine at 20% - still gives me a warning without making me think about 500 AK-47 are firing at me :).

Got mine all the way down. You can see when you're buffeting so no need to hear it IMO.
 Hiya WT :)

Almost died to it when first came to AH.  Thought I was being shot at so almost dived into the ground trying to avoid what I though was gunfire.  Then I started looking frantically at my stick wondering if the trigger button was stuck in.  Then heard about the stall buffet and immediately turned the sound off.
