Rightclick on map, then select "vehicle spawns", You will then see all the points on map, where enemy vehicles will, umh, spawn... Spawn camping is just sitting at (or better: behind) an enemy spawn point near your base, waiting for victims. The moment they spawn, you shoot them. Some players consider that lame, mostly those who get killed over and over and over and.... :D

Spawn camping is fun as long as it isn't happening too you!

In reality, people who spawn camp are lame; they have too shoot you in the back because it's about the easiest way get a kill.I myself rally other friend's in GV's and form a line around the base and let them earn a round from my 88mm.

Spawn camping is kind of like vulching. Part of gameplay for some, lame for others.

Youll have to decide for yourself if its fun for you or not.

justfreds, it puts their cannon and attention 180 degrees away from you. He may have to spawn several times to know where you're at and even then, he/she may not be able to do much about it.

Its called an "ambush", lying in wait in an area you know your foe will appear.

so how about if when you spawn a GV you get a second menu after clicking the spawn point. this menu lets you decide wich way you will be pointing when you appear.

spawn in to north spawn point, facing southeast, get hit in the arse,  next time spawn facing northwest

should be easy

Not a bad idea bat, It helped a lot when they changed over to AHII.  Back in the day they used to spawn in almost the same spot everytime, now that was ez pickins.

I'm sorry, but if your base is CAP'ed and gv's are spawning, it's also the easiest way to defend against gv attacks. It could mean the difference between saving the base and loosing it.

Personally, I take it as a challenge to figure out a way to spawn and not get killed in the first 30 seconds. But that's just me. It would be easier if we spawned and the vehicles were already started. But nobody promised easy in this game.

There are a lot of things I see as lame game play, such as HO colliders (kamakazi pilots) and aircraft in tank town maps, but those are things that I just write off as SOP game play. Lame, but I accept it as it's going to happen.

yeah, and doing the weapons and perma-quad damage cheat in quake was sometimes the only way to complete the game, doesnt mean you won it without cheating.

Hmmm.... cheating..... Don't you think that's a little harsh? Like I said, there are a few things I find as lame, but I don't consider them cheating. Maybe I haven't been playing long enough, but the only cheating I've seen is cable jiggling (induced warping by a pilot in trouble).

Spawn camping, or 'aggressive forward defense', may be a lot of things, but it ain't cheating.

It's how the game is designed, it's a universally available tactic to all players, and all sides have the same awareness and ability to exploit said tactic.

That makes it gameplay, not cheating.

Like others have said...sometimes it may be lame, other times it's a necessary part of controlling the territory needed to capture and hold a base, other times it's simply part of the battle royale face-off at a really good close spawn, and everybody's just blasting away.

If you're getting camped, there are field-proven, time-tested means to break/defeat the camp, so don't gripe...just go getcha some bombs!

"To camp or be camped.  That is the question"  :D

(PS..IMHO, cable-pulling is a popular myth.  You yank the cable and interrupt the signal, you disco.  Period.  Lag is lag, and another animal altogether.  I have seen some stuff that looks like a cheat, but is really no more than a combination of lag, luck, game logic and misunderstanding of how things are processed in the game calcs.  HTC monitors for actual cheats and hacks, and does NOT tolerate same for more than 5 seconds if they ever find it.  If your target lags away at the most inopportune moment, it's just coincidental bad luck.  However...intentional discos are common for score-potato dweebs, and can't be helped)

Spawn camping is good sound tactical defense. Vulching is interdiction. Porking troops is also interdiction. All these tactics are legitimate and necessary to win.:aok
