On CNN. They are going to show a commercial airplane land live that blew a tire on takeoff.
Left rear landing gear is completly flat. They are burning off fuel right now.
-
Can't be any more exciting than watching an aircraft land with it's front gear turned 90-degrees. ;)

-
Better to many then to little.
-
Appearently that's going on here in town. Fox 26 put .. what is it, flight aware.com (?) on their screen. It's getting so many hits it already crashed their web server once.

-
It's suppessed to land about 6:15 CDT at Houston Intercontinental.
-
That was very anti-climatic. But I guess thats a good thing.

Stantard ops. Better safe than sorry.
Besides, they all have their part in the rescue plan if something goes wrong, so they're all needed for the team to function properly.

I have to sqeeze into one of those little puddlejumpers every time I go home. I dont know why Continental likes them so much, they are uncomfortable as heck to ride in. I suppose they must be cheap to operate or something.
Pray you dont have to use the bathroom on one of those things.
-
did u ever fly in an embraer brasilia? it makes those look roomy.

How was the landing "live" better than landing taped? I'm amazed how "news" creates "news" and we pretend not to notice.
-
Never said it was better.
More of live as in current event. Not history.
-
-applause-
Great landing.

I happened to go on break just as the plane was about to land. I was getting some food when I said to the girl next to me, "Isn't it sad that all those people and news networks are just watching this to see if it crashes?"
She replied, "What crashes?"
"The plane? It busted a tire out and needs to land?"
"It's going to crash? Where?" She proceeded to run off to the TV and I lost all hope for humanity.
