Better then beginners.

Christ, you're so right. I thought my second hardest final was tomorrow. No, it's today, supposed to begin in under an hour.
****.
-
Almost done with finals here, one more tomorrow which is a BS group assignment that my partner and I realized that the best grade to get is a F+.
-
My last final (final final??) was a 4 hour exam. It covered the previous 2 years of classwork. There were 8 questions. You had to answer 6, all of them were essay questions and the minimum page count was 4 pages per question. It was, interesting.
-
Lol.. I aint got finals for another couple weeks... just got the grades back from my last round of mid terms.
3 A's.... and 1 F :(.
I can't believe I did that bad on one of my midterms. I think I was literally in shock when I got the grade.
-
Yes, finals do suck. BUT THEN ... ah, I'll have one whole week off of school before it's ... to summer school! Yay!
Had to read an 18 page term paper outloud to my class today though. So the last few weeks of school just suck in general.
-
Think finals suck? Wait til you get a faceful of what's waiting for you on the outside.
Sorry, guys...it don't get easier.
Luck!
-
In three weeks time I sit three of four final papers to become a chartered accountant.
I've sat 11 exams to get this far, and the last paper is a case study based on 50 pages of preseen material, and 10 pages of unseen material.
It's strange that when I got my masters degree in Physics I said I would never do another exam as long as I lived. I must be a masochist, because I'm planning to an MBA eventually, partly because of the exemptions I'll get through being an accountant.
-
Worst final ever for me was a combined Exercise Physiology exam and lab final. It took 8 hours to take the test and was 5 essay questions dealing with different sports injuries and then an oral lab exam where you tell a panel of 2 head Trainers, 1 orthopeadic surgeon and 2 Physical Therapists how you would treat and prescribe rehabilitation for those same injuries. You got a 30 minute lunch break then on the lab you had to locate all the different muscle groups and ligaments that were involved in the injured regions on 5 different cadavers. It was a "Pass/Fail" exam where if you got less than 80% of the answers correct you failed and you had to have this class to graduate.
-
Agreed, finals suck.
2 more days till it's all over.. for a few weeks at least.

I liked it better on the outside. The pay was better and nobody was on my back all day.
to top it all off, I still have to look forward to the Bar Exam(s) next Summer... sigh.

4 days until graduation...WOOT!
-
Grats Cav.. I'm looking forward to a Math degree in the fall, and not so looking forward to the actuarial exam after that lol.

I just hope to God you aren't going into family law... You'll love that Bar exam in comparison :)
-
Good Luck on your finals. Completed mine many years ago. Still remember a few of them. But after going through "finals" I realized they weren't finals. Just a new and tougher beginning.
I wish I were back taking my finals.
Welcome to the new reality show called......finding a secure well paying job! Not only with a comensurate pay scale but a job you really like!
Unfortunately in todays job climate.........experience is worth more then a degree. Having both after graduating College is impossible.
Good Luck! The starters Pistol is about to go off and you've just setup in the blocks!

ROFL, I'm really considering family law actually. Fastest way into the courtroom from what I can see. After my own divorce it seems like a relaxing time. And if nothing else, I feel compelled to move to Colorado and beat the crap out of "Cowboy Troy, incompetent attorney" *******.

You think they suck to take, try grading them.:furious

My "finals" were the CPA exams.
Two days. Day 1 was two exams, each lasting 4 hours. Day 2 was two exams, one 4 hours the other 4.5 hours.
After that I felt like Rodney Dangerfield in "Back to School". Just before his last part of the oral exam question from the guy who was trying to get RD chucked out of the school he was sitting in the chair all flustered and said:
"I feel like I just gave birth....to an accountant."
It took about a week for me to stop dreaming about exam questions, showing up late for the exam, missing the exam, doing the exam and realising I was naked etc etc. when I was asleep.

why you spending time posting to us then?:aok
hey laser by the way. I raced laser's , bluejays, tornato's, J's- a bunch of years ago. In and around RI,CT waters.
-
Awesome! I'm currently the captain of PSU's sailing team, though that doesn't mean much. There ain't **** for water anywhere near here.
However, I was hoping to crew on a Star of one of our recent graduates in Annapolis. He still has to buy one, so I'm really pushing...
Also, with about 45 minutes worth of studying, I friggin spanked that test. Steel and Wood design and analysis can blow me!

I am a BS in Political Science (International Relations)...I swear 2 God I think I am the only person at my school out of a 500+ person major to not be attending law school!
As for me I will be getting laser eye surgery early to mid June....There will be a six month waiver until my vision is cleared to pass a US Army Class1a Flight Physical. In the meantime I will be working on my Warrant Officer packet...If all goes to plan, I should be leaving for the basic training by January/Feb 2007, and off to Warrant Officer Candidate School/Flight School (Fort Rucker, AL) by late spring! If I dont happen to get picked up on my first try I will go ahead and finish my masters degree. Anyone in the DC area? I am interested in George Town, George Mason and American...(Hopefully I get picked up though, and dont even touch my masters until my 30's).....
Anyways in the mean time I will be interning with the Department of Homeland Security (Connecticut), starting May 22. ooo how I will miss AH during the day
-
Hehe, I hate to tell you... but Political Science...
Not actually a science :p.
-
Nor a real major for that matter...

Yeah... It can be easy from what I've seen (been a paralegal some six years now)... BUT, you will NEVER get more pain in the bellybutton clients then a few parents ready to kill each other over granting one or the other an extra half hour of visitation...
It can really get into an "I need to crush my spouse" fest, and thos are never, ever fun.
Plus, they tend to call you every ten minutes. I gotta say, criminals seem much easier to deal with.

The problem with politics is that it's filled with Politicians. It's a circle of life. All the politicians out there act a certain way because that's how they were taught to act.
But don't worry, the system will come crashing down when I'm elected president.
My major? Architectural Engineering.
When you think about it, an Architectural Engineer is more suited to have the responsibilities of a political role anyday.

Lol, that was me 5 years ago... I still love my IR degree, but it's not doing me much good. I miss the study though, and I think I'll be a failure if I die without my PhD in the field... but I'm saving that for retirement lol.
Any Chance you'll be at the con?

lol Sikboy...Well it is true...The field is so competitive that one needs at a mininum a MA in IR to be sucessful...Its a tough ball game...I have been President of my campus's College Republican Chapter for two years now...In that time I have a formal relationship with the Governor, and many state Congressmen on first name basis...I've also had the chance to meet the President...I've done travel all over the East Coast for meetings and conventions...It's a great field, and there is a lot to see, a lot of people to meet, and a lot of opportunity to jump on....Problem is, atleast in my opinion is that the field is full of the most ambitious/competitive people who will two face their mothers for personal gain...
So Sik, what do you do for a living? Maybe check out the CIA or NSA website...I see they have ton's of jobs with IR as a pre-req...(but you cant have smoked pot-dough)
-
Oh, and don't assume that I haven't studied Foreign Politics and Government. How do you think I came up with those conclusions?
-
And laser...I was hoping you were going to respond saying you were Communications, or ENGLISH major! haha...Not AE...damn you mathematical genius!.... Do you go to Penn State? If so do you know Garrett Ferriss? Kelly Barrett? (haha yea, right.....)
PS- Good luck trying to change the norms of politics...
PPS- Seeing as how we are around the same age...If we are both going for the Presidential nomination for the same party, i'd be happy to make you my Vice President...are you good with guns? =)

I'm a law student... I was about the only guy who didn't go to law school after graduation... I waited two years. I was going to go to UMD for my PhD but grew tired of being poor. So I sold out and went after my JD.
I spent 8 years in the Navy (5 active, 3 reserves) as a CTI, so I worked pretty closely with the NSA. In fact my ex-wife went from the AF to the NSA then to a contractor supporting the CIA. I wasn't at all impressed by the NSA at the time (though they have a cool MA program at the war college). At some point I just decided I didn't want to work for the Government any longer.
Oh, and you CAN smoke a ton of Pot, you just can't lie about it during your security interview.
