Title: Best Drivers for Radeon 9800 Pro

Scored a 2nd hand ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb AGP card the other day cheap, so it will upgrade my Piece of cr*p FX5200 'video card'.

So what's the best drivers to use for this card, bearing in mind AH2 is the only game i play...

ATI 4.12 or equivalent Omega

4.12 omega's are best  for any 9xxx series ati cards

Tar guys! downloaded drivers and hooked up new card. Cranked all the sliders and full-settings, 512K textures etc etc, water, skins etc etc. Seen FRs as high as 170 and no lower than about 45 in the dirtiest, smokiest, cloudiest, bad-*ssd, furball. No overclocking yet, or needed.

Enabled the fast-writes too, as i got a 64 bit A64 chip too.

Excellent card. Next up is more RAM so i can run the Hi-res pack!

I USE THE STOCK CAT 5.3 ON MY 9600XT (SAME CHIP AS YOURS) AND THE PERFORMANCE FOR ME IS RIGHT ON PAR WITH WHAT YOU HAVE (AT 1024 TEXTURES) AND IT'S JUST AS STABLE AS 4.12

How much ram you running buz? Whats your processor?

Glad it is working for you, but Skuzzy has posted many times not to use anything newer than 4.12 on that series.  I use the 4.12 on my old Guam machine with a 9800XT.

i tried em all and 5.3 is the ONLY one after 4.12 that works  (btw it's a sapphire radion 9600xt not ATI)

o and my cpu is 3400+ 64 bit, 1.5 gig ddr333 ram
