I know there are a couple of programs out there to replace Apple's steaming pile of code. I'm finally fed up with it... for no reason, it seems to have gone through all my sound files and added all of them to my Ipod's directory, so I get random crap like "109 landing gear" as tracks. And of course, there's no easy way to remove the offending files by directory. AHHHH.
Any recommendations for something better?

iPod-side, or Music store side, or both?
To manage the ipod itself, there's Anapod explorer, Foobar2000, Ephpod, Xplay, and Vpod. A while back I used Music Match Jukebox, but I don't know if it's still out there.

yeah, just the ipod side of things. I have one folder for mp3s that I want on my Ipod, and every once in a while I add a few files to that folder. Doesn't seem too tough, but Itunes can't handle it.

heh, that's how I found it. I really only take it to the gym and listen to my workout playlist. I hooked it up in my car for a long drive, hit "play all," and found out it had added almost 600 "songs" of random sound effects and crap.
Gawd I hate Itunes.

I've been loving the music Rhapsody lets me play, its like having a jukebox at my finger tips. The ability to listen to just about anything I want cant be touched by itunes.
Heres a tip... sign up for the free 2 weeks, when you call to cancel they'll offer you an additional free month.
The player itself is a bit of a clunky resource hog, the UI could be a lot better and it has some funky quirks... but recording the streams is silly easy, and they're $89 ea to buy.
I thought that having streaming music would suck, but the end result is the same; I press play, the song plays. Plus its impossible for your HD to crash and eat up all your favorite musc..
I do like the celebrity / user submitted mixes, unlike itunes where you have to buy them all... just choose a mix and they all play. Some guys go to a lot of work putting together some really great mixes, some of the old school punk / new wave ones will keep you going for hours.
