Every time I click on the destktop icon, the computer begins to go through the processes of loading the game, then, after a few seconds, it just up and quits, apologizing in case some data was lost. I can't get it to run at all, and this is the second time I've totally removed the program and re-installed it. Some thing every time...
I know may not be enough information to diagnose the problem, but does anyone have any idea what I might do? I've got a 128 graphics card.
-
Not nearly enough information... At least for me, I can't help you with that.
What graphics card, what drivers? Might be a driver related issue if your computer otherwise meets the system requirements (I'm sure I've seen those somewhere).
How about this: Click Start - Run - type in "dxdiag" (without quotes), click the display tab, you'll see your adapter and driver information from there. If you can give those, it'd be easier to figure out where the problem is.
Hope you'll get it sorted out.
-
I have the same problem, A quick flick of the screen and then nothing.
-
reinstalled Graphic drivers,,,ya now it works,,,but I lost the password for online play..:cry I'll email support for that.:aok

Try running a DirectX Diagnosis (in windows task bar: START > RUN > tape in dxdiag and hit Enter. Wait till its done its check, then "save all info" to text file. Post the first third of the resulting TXT file here or send it to Skuzzy via email.
This will give us more info about your system specs and drivers..... we might be able to spot the issue.

JBA, I see two sound cards. This is going to cause problems.
You should update the video card drivers to version 4.12 Catalysts. Do not use the Catalyst Control Center. Use the ATI Control Panel.
The sound card driver for the SoundMAX card/chip is quite old. You should check for a later update of that driver.

thanks I'll get the drives updated,,,I don't see the "two" sound cards, can you point them out please.
then what do I do about it? I don't have to "cards'" installed?
-
Not sure about the two "cards" either, but could it be you have onboard sound AND a sound card? (you can disable the onboard in BIOS).
Another thing i just noticed.... Sound HW Acceleration should be 75%, not full....
-
The "Modem #0 Line Playback (emulated)" is the second sound card. Why Windows insist on installing a sound driver for this device is beyond me, but it will cause problems.
