any help will be apreciated...
thnx
oh,btw, I'm useing a Saitek ST290

there are many different schools of thought, but practice and learning a "feel" for your stick and plane are just something that takes time.
personally for almost 3 years i used something like this:
dont forget though you MUST set this seperately for EACH axis, pitch, roll, and yaw.
then i learned another setup, and loved it.
all sliders 0-90 maxed out at the top... but that is personal preference.
also keeping the stick steady is a deadband and dampening issue. lower those and the smaller little "nudges" or flintches in your hand will move the plane. like i said it is actually mostly practice though. getting a "steady hand" is something the old vets have after a few years playing.
-
As you said ,I think it's mostly practice.
I only get to fly 2 or 3 times a week.
I'm gonna change to your settings and see what happens
thnx man...
one more thing if you are still there.
in offline mode ,how do set guns fr unlimited ammo for practicen....
-
not "unlimited" but lots of ammo...
under setup, arena, arena settings i think is the verbage...
there is a thing called autoammomultiplier and planegunmultiplier and another i think. change those up to the maximum.
-
SETUP > ENVIROMENT > Arena Settings: Find "PlaneGunAmmoMult" on the list and set it to 100,000 (Yes, i know it says its not in possible range, but works anyway). This will give you unlimited (OOR - out of range) ammo.
Joystick Settings: I would say they largely depend on personal preference, but also on stick type and on to a certain extend even on the plane types you regularly fly (some have more nose bounce issues then others).
Me personally, i like very fine control (i have almost all sliders maxed out and damping/deadband to a minimum), but its also very touchy/bouncy.
If you have trouble with nose bounce, id try lowering the sliders (see Mustaines settings) and adding a little damping on RUDDER and PITCH axis. ROLL doesnt affect nose stability that much.
As a general rule for ALL axis id keep the Dead Band to a minimum. As little as possible, as much as necessary (ie "flatlines" in the blue box ie no spiking).

ok man,thnx again
-
hey no problem, though schatzi aint no man ;) she's good people too :aok :D
BTW schatzi... isn't there 3 different things you can change the ammo on? isn't 1 for GV hull guns and PT and then field guns at least i thought there were 3 different settings.
-
Tobor you didn't mention which joystick you're using. If it's a Saitek Evo, they tend to require calibration every time to enter the main arena...and sometimes more than that.

Maxie, need to put your bifocals back on, read the bottom of his first post

:D

here's another point of view for ya'.
I have all sliders, all the way up, except for rudder, which IIRC starts at 0 1/2 way up, then is full up by 50.
Nose bounce? you bet ya'.
BUT it does turn and handle MUUUUCH better in a stall fight. It's that TINY advantage you sometimes need to hold the extreme edge of the stall and out maneuver your opponent.
Great for deflection shot setups. Bad for straight 6 shot's (due to the wobbly nose)
-
pffft who fires at straight 6 shots. I find those the hardest compeared to a turning lead shot. Even snapshots are easier for me now.

my bad...that stick's even worse from what I've heard.

What brand of a stick u guys usen??
-
Saitek X52
-
I got a X45 but could never get used to it ..
maybe I need to...
-
X 45's a pretty good rig. Only thing I didn't like was the rudder input by way of rocker switch on the throttle handle. Some folks just add on a set of CH Product USB pro peds.
-
I personally set all my sliders all the way up and the damping and deadband maybe an 1/8" up from bottom... works well IMO
-
Granted this is WAY down on the Wish List food chain but it would be a treat to have the option to create different stick scales for different planes. What works well for a typhoon is way too bouncy for a Fw190 A8...for me anyway.
-
your roll settings in ur 1st post pic is about what your "Rudder" should look like
the Roll settings in Mustaine's pic is closer to what your Roll and Pitch should look like with that Stick ..
the rudder ussually needs more dead band to stop the "Wobble"

Rudders are an issue with X45, but for me the spring stiffness was a MAJOR problem. Made fine adjustments very tough.
Went to the X52 (thank you best buy warranty!), and found it enormously better. The springs are gently enough to allow fine movements, and my hit% went up overnight from that alone.
Course, then I stopped hunting buffs (nice big targets that they are) and my its went back down, but thats another story....
