Title: Some Russian skin ideas
Post by: Treize69 on May 10, 2006, 07:08:04 PM
As much as I dislike them in the MA (although they make for some graet fights in the AvA), I think we need some more skins for them. Heres a few profiles I found. Heres the La5, La5F, and La5FN-

the la5 has  a lot of issues with the skin,it mirrors in a lot of places  so the ones with inscriptions  woul be very hard to do,

saying that the one with the teeth could proberly be done

The La5 3rd GvIAP, Baltic Fleet is a real nice looking plane, but I would image doing all the graphics on it would be a nightmare lol.

If someone could pull it off they should get free beer in the beer tent!

We do not have any La5's or La5F's in the game..............

La5FN (yellow 01)Capt Valeri Popkov is already very nicely rendered and in the game. Btw its a 1945 skin (count the kill stars!)as Popkov flew this upto the end of the war. He was also a Mig 15 "Ace" in Korea.

La5FN (White 13) was shared between two czech pilots who were placed behind enemy lines to support the Czech partizan uprising. A total of 15 La5FNs formed the 1st Czech Regiment.

These pilots have since given us a unique insight into the performance of the La5FN because members of this group had previously flown Spit V's for the RAF in 41/42 and were able to compare the combat characturistics of the two ac.

Of the La7's

The two renderings of white 27 are fanciful.....particularly the picturesque winter camo with blue tail the green white 27 with  triple HSU medals is a version of the colours used during periods of display at Monino Museum.

I beleive there is a rendering of white 27 already in the game as is yellow 09 and  white 93.

IMO White 17 with the red thunderbolt would be a nice addition as would White 22 (3 cannon) provide the proper colour codings were used.

Treize hasn't flown for a long time. Best bet would be to send him a Private message and hope he checks them. Last time he was on the boards was July last year, good luck.
