I heard they were active but never saw combat?
-
Man I hate the Borg. Reminds me of the BKs.
-
They saw combat, but only as prototypes. An order was placed by the LW command, if my books are to be believed, but IIRC, the war was over before the factories were even completed, so there was never an actual production run, just a few armed prototypes which were tested briefly, in late March or early April of '45.
I seriously doubt it would get added, and would require heavy perking. After all, resistance was futile, so it could prove very imbalancing if it were added.
Referring to the Borg Cube (Borgen UberKuben in German), not the Spitfires in that same pic.
-
Spitfires! what Spitfires, those look like N1K2's to me
-
There's a plane type in there that I can't see well enough to identify, and they might be N1Ks, but those are definitely Spits in the foreground- notice the clipped wings.
-
Ok, well I guess your right there, but as far as my sources go (several retired pilots in the old pilot's home + a guy that used to work the chow line) they state that model of Spitfire only served in the Delta Quadrant and never saw service in this particular theater

yes the germans did deploy borg cubes in WWII, however, the brits developed the CN Mk. 2 just in time to destroy all 5 prototypes before they got off the ground.
