I am noticing about a 20mv drift on my cpu while overclocking. I have also been getting some lock ups lately so I reduced my overclock to 2.25GHZ.
What are good reccomendations for a PSU for overclocking. Currently I have the stock PSU (raidmax) here are the ratings: 12v=13A 5V=32A 3.3V=26A.
Does anyone think a better psu would enable me to run @ 2.5GHZ stable.

What are you running for a vcore on the 3000+ ?

i will post my bios settings when i get home from work sorry i forgot to do that.

The reason i ask is that most of the time you will have to bump your vcore up when you get to the higher fsb settings . Cpu's are kinda funny about vcore , mine @ 2.2ghz (stock) is 1.4v , and i can run up to 2.8 stable with out adjusting it , @ 3.0 ghz i need 1.6v for stability . That said , a good power supply is a must if you want to achive a high , stable overclock.

I could not find a Vcore setting,
My voltage settings to adjust are
cpu voltage over 5%
mem voltage 2.75
agp voltage 1.55v
I bought a cooler master extreme power 600w PSU
and bumped it up to :
cpu 8.3 %
mem voltage 2.75
agp 1.55V
according to cpuz my voltage flucuates to 1.488 to 1.504v
my clock is now 2268.1MHZ
HTT 252 mhz
multiplier x9
I will try flying tonite and see how she runs.
These AMD 64s are more complex to overclock than a P4 that is for sure
Next thing I am adding a true temp monitor to my box the one MSI built in is not accurate...

When overclocking a amd 64 there is also a hypertransport link to worry about . The setting for my HT link are 2x 3x 4x 5x . The HT link needs to be around 1000mhz . With your FSB @ 252 on a stock HT link multiplier of 5X is 1260mhz . Im actually supprised it boots or is stable at that high a setting . With a 252 fsb , your HT link should be 4X (4X252) = 1008 mhz . That is prolly whats been holding you back . My 3700+ will not boot with an HT link speed over 1080mhz .
Edit : pollock shoot me an email @ rukkee@toast.net if ya want , i dont mind going threw all ur settings over the phone . As you can see by my sig. overclocking is one of my favorite pastimes . 38
