According to a poll done on CNN.com, here are the top 5 cities with the rudest drivers and the top 5 cities with the most courteous drivers:

RUDEST:
1. Miami
2. Phoenix
3. New York
4. Los Angeles
5. Boston

MOST COURTEOUS:
1. Minneapolis
2. Nashville
3. St. Louis
4. Seatlle
5. Atlanta

On that note, even our rudest city is still not as bad as Europe! >>>

Saw the video - which European country is that then, given that it shows traffic driving on the left, not the right? It's sure as hell not Britain or Ireland - the only two EU states I know where they drive on the left.

Nice troll though.

Washington DC is way WAY more rude than LA.

LA drivers aren't rude. They're speeding.

Possibly not Europe, but Asia...Looks like India (Shrugs)? Didn't Britain train them to drive? :rofl

(I'm basing this assumption off the HP Gas truck, which is Hindustan Petroleum)

I doubt that Britain taught driving to anyone in your video, as India has been independent from Britain since 1947.

Yes it looks as if it could be India - certainly not Europe. But don't bother to amend your remark which suggests it IS Europe. I'd hate to see a good troll spoilt by the facts.

I'm shocked Atlanta didn't even make the list. When I lived there, it was nothing for someone to come zooming by & knock off your mirror with theirs & not even slow down.

India in Yurop, of course!

Beet, truth to be told... that's pretty close to how I remember Swindon's magic roundabout. My ex-wife would drive all round town to avoid that one... it was sporty alright to go through there.

There's an even scarier version at High Wycombe, very close to where Batfink lives. It's OK when you know what you're doing an provided good turn signals are given. It just seems weird.

Though it's been 9-10 years I spent several months in Manahattan and found the drivers there to be much more courteous than those of my native Dallas.

How does someone go about making this list..

"Today I was only moderately offended when someone spat a racial slur at me, after I gave him the middle finger. I score this a 3 out of 10 on my rude meter."

What? There is no way people in Phoenix can be as rude as Boston drivers, I find that hard to believe

Sixpence...where were you back in April?  I was in Boston for 10 days.  I posted on here hoping you would respond and we could have hooked up for a few beers or something.

I'm upset.  When I lived there, St Louis was rated as one of the most dangerous cities in America to drive in.  Now its one of the most courteous?

Hmmm, I wonder if there's any correllation?  :D

Something's wrong with the data set.

I get just as many rude gestures in Seattle when I cut somebody off and then slow down in front of them as when I do the same thing in Phoenix.

>> never can spell Feenicks right.

That would have been nice, wasn't on much. We had a sewer back up in our apartment, we were forced out, basically homeless. It was a big mess, but we ended up buying a house in Saugus. I was waiting for the prices to come down, but we couldn't find an apartment with a yard and the three bedrooms were big money. The real estate agent looking for an apartment for us showed us this house before it went on the market(she new our situation). It was more than I wanted to spend, but it has .21 of an acre and it's in a nice area.

lol, i'm not sure if I can afford to go out for beers anymore :)

I cant believe they didnt have an accident in that video.  It kinda looked like Paris, seen the same stuff (not as extreme, but I saw a lot of right hand turns from left hand lanes)

I can tell they didnt come to Detroit, of course what most of you would consider rude, we consider normal.

Rude here is shooting a hole in a guys brand spankin new spinner wheels, not waiting for the target to roll his window down before firing, therefore wrecking a good tint job..jeez what pikers.

hmmmm.

I remember sitting at an intersection in Orlando, my light is red and I am at the head of the line.  I can see the light for the crossing traffic very well and when it turned yellow (MINE was still red of course), the woman behind be is laying on the horn because I am not moving.

I hate civilization :p

Since I'm a resident of Nashville I can call complete malarky on us being the second most courteous.   You can't drive downtown without getting cutoff, flipped off, told off or p'd off.

I can't believe Hampton Roads isn't on there...This is one of the few places where most drivers are 18-22..each of them with the driving style of their hometown and we have people from all 50 states. All trying to drive some of the worst roads in the country in the same direction in the morning(to NS Norfolk) and in the afternoon. Its a free for all.

Thats why when I got stationed at dam neck, I moved to a house where I wasn't required to use I-264 or I-64 anymore.

Well, if gunning the engine everytime they see a pedestrian is considered rude, I have to say Preston, England's drivers are pretty awful...  Quite remarkable I ever got out of there alive!

Boston's drivers aren't rude so much as the driving culture is.  TAKE TAKE TAKE! NO BLINKERS! NO HORNS! GUN IT GO GO GO!

It would be a blast if it weren't for the fact that Boston's road system is the biggest maze in the nation.

Having been to Detroit, I can actually picture that scenario with no problem.  lol

I generally got the impression that most folks there would just as soon shoot you as talk to you, unless it required actual effort to shoot you.  Then just kicking or punching your teeth in would do.

Great hockey fans there though.

Having driven all over the U.S., Britain, Canada and the Middle East... The U.S has cornered the rude category, Britain the stupid category, and the Saudi the "Driver's Shouldn't" category.

When I was in 'Nam. The worst drivers were in Hanoi. The Saigonese claimed they were better drivers, but I think less worse is the correct term there.  I took this video in  Saigon. The quality is rubbish but you get the idea. Note the tourist on the crossing. That is the recommended method for crossing the road in Vietnam. Walk slowly to allow time for the drivers to miss you. It works but is scary.
