There's some paint schemes that have always attracted me. I'm referring to the "garish?" schemes of the late '30s similar to the following . . .
oh gosh, i bet i won't be able to attach or upload the images . . .
here's the plane's names: sparrowhawk . . . ah fiddle, there's others to but i can't figure how to do it . . .

there's a link that displays the paint jobs of which i'm thinking. they aren't the best examples, but they'll do since i couldn't find any better ones.
for those who don't/won't look, it's the 2, 3, and 4 toned schemes yellow, blue, red, white . . . real eyepoppers.
can we use anything like that inside ah? or since those paint patterns did not see action (i'm assuming always dangerous) they are verbotten.
what's the skinny.
best always, hap

We have one on the F4F-4, last I recall.
I'm planning on doing a P47 that has hints of this on the tail (but not the wings).
Depends on the plane.

I was thinking of doing a couple for some training planes... would look pretty nice in a TA environment. :)
Hap... I thought you were from Colorado, did you recently move? I spent last Christmas in Casper, loved it there.

I had seen a profile of an SBD with the color scheme of the first one that I wanted to do. However, I was never able to verify it as a combat aircraft in those colors. Matter o' fact, it was a Marine SBD.

Dux, you're right on both points: i moved from Denver to Casper 2 1/2 years ago. Give a shout next time you're nearby.
