What a first time! Quite a debut considering the circumstances.
Besides the first time, Lordi scored the most points in the history of the contest.
BBC: Finnish monsters rock Eurovision (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4998186.stm)
"A Finnish "horror rock" group who dress in monster costumes have pulled off a surprise win at the 51st Eurovision Song Contest in Athens."

Hopefully someone comes up with the video from finals - audio was much better set up, for every contestant.

With Norway's contribution last year, and Finland's this year, I have to ask: What's wrong with Scandinavian people?
LOL Just kidding! :)
My favorite Scandinavian metal band are these guys:

-
This is the end of the world !
H*ll is freezing over, Finland won the Eurovision song contest:aok
Lordi sucks, but on the other hand he is the only one who's song I can remember. Others were just plain dull.
-
Sweet. I'm glad they did well. Kind of a Kiss (but not sucking) plus some Halford-y vocals and some awesomely cheeseball 80's rock lyrics. Not to mention it's not traditional bubblegum pop that I'd expect at something like this.
When are they touring the US? ;)
-
Looks like a wierd mix of Gwar, residents of AltereVII , and the set of So you want to be a Millionaire.
-
Hehe.. wtg Finland.
We spent our saturday eating, painting the boathouse and trying out a new set of sheets. Mia saw some of it, but she is only 2.
Thank cod for GP.. keeps potential visitors and callers infront of their TV sets, and leaves us alone :)

The Finns plant flowers in their gardens.
+5°C
Italian cars refuse to start.
The Finns go cruising in cabriolets.

Distilled water freezes.
The water in the Vanda stream gets a bit thicker.

The Finns are grilling the last hot dog before the winter.
-10°C
The English turn on the heat in their homes.
The Finns put on a sweater.
-20°C

The Finns stop celebrating midsummer, autumn is here.
-30°C
People in Greece die from the cold and disappear from the face of the earth.
The Finns hang their laundry to dry indoors.

-300°C
Hell freezes over.
The Finns win the Eurovision Song Contest.
-
Eurovision is gone ridiculous or should I say even more ridiculous. All this bloc voting is stupid. Finland votes for Sweden votes for Denmark votes for Lithuania votes for Latvia votes for Estonia votes for Russia votes for Ukraine. Who cares about the songs! Even we and Brits got in the act and voted for each others songs. It's a song contest not a fancy dress joke or it used to be.
The truth is that the only countries in Europe that write and perform good songs are Britain and Ireland. The trouble is that Britain stopped taking it seriously years ago and now send only leftovers and we are afraid to win it again because we already won it seven times and the TV company doesn't have the money to stage it again.
The truth is most Europeans are can't hold a note;) :p . No wonder the Brits, Irish and Yanks dominate the world of rock and pop music.:aok
-
Somebody took a few clips of the other Eurovision contest songs and put them together with Lordi, and included bits of the vote counting and the final song. This gives some slight perspective how different the Lordi song was to the others - and definitely some idea how enthusiant, orgastic the Finnish announcers were :)

Another version of Hard Rock Halleluja (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6666637566522776701&q=lordi)

WTF is the euro song festifal good for when we got the idols hype now .
It lost my interest a long time ago.
Its outdated and that band sure looks like it.
Is has some way to go thats so obviously.
cmon eurosong festival says nothin about talent ,originality, and artistics.
Its a stupid arse licking crap contest
-
Don't let the band's "Look" scare you away. They are not nearly as hard or hardcore as they would have you think.
They are actually quite enjoyable to listen to.
But after downloading all their music videos and seeing Eurovision videos, I have come to one conclusion.
The Pianist (piano player) is flamingly gay. If he were any more gay, he would randomly burst into flames during the day.
-
...hmmm lasersailor, I think you are correct, the pianist prolly likes men..
The cause may be that he is a SHE really...

But... It's a girl.
-
It's not my fault, she looked like a guy! Especially under all that makeup!
-
Maybe you see what you hope to see.. :D
-
Or maybe I assumed that a group of people in ugly monster outfits was all guys...
