Alls I can say is that Ruth did it on Hotdogs, beer and stogies....

Fenway is the oldest is the league.... He played there for many years.

Let these guys use as much drugs as possible. Seriously, then our youth will see what they do to the human body and shy away from them. It's the Denis Leary approach....not less drugs but more drugs...and given to the right people.

a few years ago in order to make MLB more "interesting" they made the ball more lively, the parks smaller, and the strike zone smaller ( to make it easier to hit the ball), this made the scores higher.

Aren't the seasons much longer also?
-
It was great last night, tons of people at the game had asterisk signs. They wait until the camera hit them and then flash the sign. My buddy had an asterisk shirt but the camera guy was on to us.

But we already knew that.

They still play baseball in this country?
Better yet, who cares? Baseball hasn't been the 'great American past-time' since they went on strike years ago...
-
If they want me to watch again they will have to start hitting each other with the bats in a UFC meets wrasslin fashion & cut their pay back to $30,000 a year.
Besides, he should be allowed to use steroids so he can get the record, affirmative action and equality & all that. It's not cheating for him to do it, he's not subject to the same rules so how can he break them? :rofl
EDIT: Whoops I guess I broke rule #5....& then broke rule #6 for calling myself on it. :D

i wonder how many HRs Ruth swatted in the 8th inning off a guy he was seeing for the 4th time that night, second time in 3 days & was on his 120th pitch.
how many fat pitches did he get because Gehrig was on deck?
how many fat bi***es did he get because Gin was on tap?

Football is the only sport I care to watch. Baseball is just to freaking boring, and with 160+ games a year, it's hard to give a crap about the results of any one particular game.
Now, when I can sit down in the fall with friends, a beverage, some sliced summer sausage and cheese, a few crackers and a Bears game on TV, all is right with the world. Better is going to Alarys in St. Paul on a Sunday to watch the game with a bar full of Bear fans. Only thing that tops all that, is watching a game at Soldier Field. With the exception of being in the game yourself, that is sports perfection. :aok

i'm so uninteresed in barry bonds.
baseball i now view with little of the same awe i had when i began following it in 1965.
hap
i say make the mound, the ball, the bats the whole thing as it was when Ruth his 60 homeruns. change the season back too. get rid of all the new teams for that matter. yup. that's what i want.

You obviousley don't wathc the aaa leages do you?
those are the guys playing their hearts out trying to make the big leagues, no steroids, no drugs, just a bunch of guys playing baseball for love of the game, cheap tickets too.
-
just today i read about minor leaguer who got a roid induced 50 game vacation.
those scrappy minor leagers just play for the love of the game, except for the one & only bad apple.
AAA players have more of an incentive than anyone to cheat.
those guys at you local university's law school are there just for the love of humanity also.
