Just watched them implode the cooling tower at the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant in Oregon.
It was WAY cool! First time I ever witnessed an implosion except for on tv.

that looks alot more of an explosion than implosion to me.


an implosion is where something become so compact it destroyes itself isnt it?



this is simply an explosion inside a structure.

The majority of the debris that blasted out from the tower were the blast mats that were hung over the charges.

cool, i'm just wondering what the definition of implosion is.


its obvious that they are greatly reducing debris and other materials from blasting outwards, but is it really an 'implosion'?

i geuss it means the tower implodes, not that the method used is 'implosive devices'.

Technically yes, you are correct. It is generally the term used for structures that are taken down in this manor.
 There are many different angles recorded from other cams that show the tower coming down that show it better as far as it collapsing on itself.
