Title: The OClub Shooting Club Paintball Trip 5/20/06
Post by: Wolfala on May 21, 2006, 05:31:32 PM
Yesterday, 5/20/2006 Wolfala, Grunherz, Ramzey + his lady Agnieszka went on a most excellent paintball rampage in the hills of Los Gatos CA. We joined up with a group of about 40, 14 of which were raw USMC recruits.

Wolfala had a Tippman A5 and Agnieszka had a Tippmann Prolite. Grun and Ramzey had the 2 field guns. All said, we whooped some serious ass. Grun decided that anything but a full frontal charge toward bunkered enemies was the way to go - SHock and AWe baby...which...happened to work out quite nicely.

Ramzey and I worked up along the corners - camping and plinking at will because we always managed to have the high ground. Agnieszka, found herself in front of my gun by accident on more then 1 occasion. The arm bands were on the incorrect side, and sadly she got hit in the head by me as she was traversing the hill. Grun got hit by me at point blank range, but luckily because my air pressure was so low - the ball never broke.

Later during lunch we had some entertainment provided by the Marines. Myself and the SGT overwatched some poor kid who tried to eat an MRE cracker in less then 3 minutes. Problem is, these crackers soak up all the moisture from your mouth and it becomes nearly impossible to swallow. To save his bellybutton from doing 100 pushups, Grun and another guy tried to do the same thing within 3 minutes. The results are listed in the below and in the video link. The kid had to do the 100 pushups with myself and the SGT helping along.

All said, was a really kickass day for everyone who came.

That looks fun, except I bet you have to run around and ****.  I'll go and man the MG emplacement or something.  :)

Nice Chief jersey.  Brings back memories of that stinky rink by the Armory.

The rink and the armory still stink. Except you can fly micro RC planes inside the armory and strafe the indoor joggers at will. Atleast I did before a little **** with an Aerobee frisbee shot me down.

This brings back memories of my snow rally course in the unplowed Assembly Hall parking lot.  Cops watched me for a while then left.  :)

You'd be surprised. I had to lead her quite a bit to get a headshot. Of course it didn't help that there was 15 shots per second downrange by the time I realized what had happened.

Reactive trigger or e-grip? Always liked Tippmanns.. the AK of the paintball world.. hammer nails with it & keep shooting. However, wait till you check out a well-tuned ramp mode on a WAS board 'timmy. 40bps :O Makes me wanna have my Bud Orr autococker set up with an e-blade, halo, & faster chip. :t

$2.00 per second of trigger pull....****...paying a hooker in new york is cheaper then running that thing.

Was a response trigger btw

It's actually not that bad. If you "know" people, take the price of a case & /2. If you're well sponsored, /0 :) I even saw one of the pro leagues on ESPN recently.. that case of paint they shoot per game... yeah it's free. Worst I've ever done was blow through 4k rounds & 3 airfills during a 1h scenario last battle. Wasn't free, but it was worth every last penny :aok

If you ever wanna step it up a bit & make a trip out of it, hit up a 26 hour scenario game. Fast paced & slow paced, spies, role-players, "tanks", simulated helos/demos/engineers/medics... lots of stuff to do. Best ones are run by Viper Scenarios (http://www.viperpaintball.com)... it doesn't have much of a following on the West coast, but there's been 1000+ player games in Texas & 1500+ in Florida. I've played over 3 dozen, general'd 4 occasions (22 years old & in charge of 600 players... fun :t ), and earned a small pile of MVPs, MVTs, & Sportsmanship awards.

Definately the most evolved form of recreational paintball there is :)

I've played at Skirmish USA with their D-Day 48 hour Scenario for about 8 years when all I had was a lowely Prolite. So yea, 3000 guys camping with NVG's and glow in the dark rounds. Looked like ****ing starwars. Yea - the westcoast is pretty lame when it comes to PB i've discovered. But such is life I guess. I'm just hear for the weather and ample hooters.
