Im trying to create an account and im getting that error.

i disabled my firewall and im still getting this problem

what virus protection are you running?

Seem some of the later software firewalls from McAff and Norton both, cannot be disabled, even though they have that option.

I talked with someone on the phone and he finally just removed the software and everything worked fine after that.  Seems to be a trend.

they're running their systems without firewalls?

With a properly configured home network, running without a firewall is perfectly safe, especially if you are just connected to the HTC server.
