You have to admire Google's style. I remember once they changed their logo to pay homage to an artist. Unfortunately, some copyright lawyers got angry and Google removed it before the day was out.

They do make their company seem more human by doing such things (imo of course).

Quite correct.

For those of you who didn't understand that, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories. He also wrote The Lost World.
