Well people im back. Been a while i know but have been realy busy. I left about a year ago to go to basic training for the U.S. Army. The after that I went to AIT. after I completed AIT I was sent to Iraq. I was based there and was out one day trying t get to a 5 ton truck riged up to tow back when we started to take fire from about 14 insurgents. Not trying to stay and fight since there was only 5 of us we tried to hurry and get out of there, but as I went to the frount of the 5 ton to get the chocks out of the frount the 5 ton took an RPG hit. I was wounded in the back and right side. As I was trying to get to cover I was shot twice. 1 time in the right hip and in the left shoulder. About that time an apache showed up and took care of our little problem I was rushed back to the FOB and then taken to geremy to recover I was in geremy for about 2 months, and then went back to iraq. I was in Iraq for 1 month more then my unit was pulled back. when I got back I transfered to the Texas Army National Guard. Thats were i'm at today.
Hope to have the money to start paying soon want to get up in the air again, but will be a while. So it's H2H for me hope to see you all in my room soon. Ill be hosting a constant room, so stop by when yall want.
Later all and it's great to be back.

I do believe there is a time and place. Most here actually got the fact that he means Germany. You going to go after the other typos in his post as well? Knock yourself out. ;)

Ill give a few more insights on what happened with my injuries. When the RPG hit the truck i was standing on the other side of the impact but when it blew up it sent a peice of metal about 4 inches long and 3 inches wide into my lower back on the right side. It took out some nerves and came withen 1 mm of my kidney. Then the shot I took in the right thigh was about 8 inches down from my hip it broke the bone on impact. At this point I was still running for some cover when I saw a friend pined under the hood that had blown off the truck. I stoped to turn around to go help him but that was when I was hit the secound time in the left shoulder just below the color bone, the bullet hit my the lower part of my colar boan breaking it clean. The bullet then bounced down twords my heart but was stoped and diverted by one of my ribs, were it left my body. When I was hit the secound time it knocked me on my back. When I got up to try to help my friend thats when a secound RPG went off right were my buddie was laying. It was at that time when I saw the first of 2 apache's fly over they had seen the fire fight and came to help, but they were a little to late for me and my buddie. My other friends then helped my to a hemit that we were using to try and tow the 5 Ton. Thats all I rember for about 30 minuts untill we made it back to the FOB. Then I lost it again and woke up in germany. I have fully recovered since then. I just woent be able to have kids though since I lost some nerves in my back. I still have use of every thing else though.
If you were wondering about my Buddie under the hood .. He dident make it. It was and still is a sad loss to me and my other friends to this day. And I have dreams just about every night of what happaned. I wish I could have taken his place. He had more to go home to. But now his wife and 3 kids will never see him again.
On the purple heart I declined it. Because I doent think I deserv it. If I had removed the wheel chocks befor we tried to move the truck then this never would have happaned, and he would still be alive to day. I place the blame soley on my self for not moving them in the first place.
I hope you can all understand, I am deeply moved by the kindness of all of you and I doent think I could ever repay any of you for the respect and gratutde that you have shown me today.
This is the one reason why I joined the army. I was tired of honest and desent people being killed or hurt by anyone. And I was and still am willing to give up my life for this.
I want you all to know that what I did and what I had to go through was to help the best way I could to stop all the killing of inocent pepole. And even though I lost one of my best friends I would still willing give my life if it would end all the need less killing that goes on in this world.
I want to thank you for reading this, even if you doent understand what im going through. It's still nice to know that some of you read this and show so mutch respect for what we do.
I want to apoligise for this message being so long, and I want to thank you all for the support and love you show me and the rest of the military. You doent know how mutch it means to us to have your support.
Thank you again.

One of the main reasons I enlisted and will be spendign the next 20 years of my life in the military. To protect the honest and decent people left in this world.
You sir paid a huge price for your service to your country so we all can sit on the other side of the world on our butts and complain online to others sitting on their butts. Again, thankyou sir. You and your fellow soldiers deserve the greatest respect from all. You have joined a elite group of men and women who know what serving their country truely means,
Thankyou again sir.

On the transfeer I requisted it. I knew that If I stayed active I would have to go back to iraq and I wasent too keen on going back. Watching your friend die tends to make you not want to go back. Now on to the BS part I would like to know how you know me and how you know what I did. I doent recall ever seeing you over there. Cause Im sure If I did I would have know. I ask a lot of people many things, to get to know them more and I did ask hobbies. And not 1 person ever mentioned Aces high to me though I did when they asked what I liked to do. So how can you say this is BS you doent even know me or know what I went trough.
-
Welcome home, brother.
Don't blame yourself for what happened to your buddy. There's was no way to react that quickly under that situation.

Yes I did go into the guard And I completed basic training while in the national guard. But after basic I went active, My drill sargents convinced me to do that. So when I completed AIT I got sent to Iraq. I never stated that I went in as Active I just stated that when I got back I transferred to the National Guard. And the wobble thing I not sure who your thinking of but I doent think it's me.

Time to kick back, nuke some popcorn, crack a beer and see if Mini is going to eat his words.
How about this one Mini... Thats a pretty serious charge. If hes legit you are going to pick up his subscription for a year and apologize on this thread?
Fair enough?

I'm just saying if he comes up with the evidence are you going to step up to the plate?
-
It's not a bet rabbit. Quit treating it like one.
-
You are man enough to say what you want but not man enough to accept the consequences of being wrong? I think I get it.
I don't know if you are right or wrong but if you are man enough to say what you are then you should be man enough to make good if you are wrong.
-
Mini D
....did this once, and Skuzzy was not happy about the way I went about it.
I happened to be dead-on correct. My reason for doing what I did was that I was so extremely pissed that someone would be so disgusting as to lie about something of like this, coupled with the fact that it was SO obvious...... that I wanted to reach through the monitor and wring someone's neck. Plus, I just hate liars.
Not making a call on this guy, just saying.
-
Turning down the PH kinda gave me pause. I believe those medals are numbered and tracable.
Mini usually has pretty good instincts on this stuff. I'd like to hear more.
-
Mini, if you're wrong you owe the guy a huge apology and then something along the lines of an O'Club scarlet letter avatard.
nn76240, to you for your service. No matter what my feelings on the war, you put it on the line when it was asked. If you are BS-ing you need serious help.

same here MT

stinky cheese indeed.

Gainesville is just up the road from Grapevine.
If he did the service I'd spring for a month as well.
Shouldn't be too hard to drop by HTC HQ and provide some bona fides.
I'm going with innocent until proven guilty, however. My "burn the witch" sign seems to have been misplaced anyway.

I live 20 minutes away. I can clear this up by the end of the week for Nutshell and buy him a beer or 12 to boot. I hope MiniD is wrong about this, but I have seen this go down twice before on these boards.
So the offer stands Nutshell. There are no other people on this planet I respect more than than our troops. PM me and we can get together if you would like.

That all depends on the rate of travel, which was not specified. I therefore have no Idea how close you may or may not live to said person. ;)

Being that I do not have the exact location of my intended destination, you are correct sir. However, I can provide you with my location and my average speed and route when traveling to the city of Gainesville to back up my claim of 20 minutes. Which in all honesty its really closer to 25 minutes, so I have brought down my credibility slightly.:(
:D

I already ponied up the three months with carrie. I'll let it stand, I'm willing to gamble and fall on the side of taking a man at his word.

nobody ever calls BS when i claim to be a ninja, but a US Army truck driver is pushing it?
y'all are weird.
-
Wait, you're NOT A NINJA?! I'm crushed. :(
-
no, im a ninja, but nobody has ever doubted it.
maybe they are afraid to.
they should be.
im a ninja.
cherry blossoms fall
from the spring rains. cut your head
off, im a ninja
-
Long time no see guys. I'm calling BS. I'm on my 14th year of active service in the Army. The Army doesn't work like that. You just don't "go active" at the end of AIT. You would have to go back to your guard unit and get a release from them before you enlisted in active duty. You also don't then just choose to leave active duty and go back to the guard. You either serve out your enlistment, or you get kicked out.
Sorry, I'm not buying it.
-
Either it is true(Then i salute you sir
)..or it is the return of Voss(with 3 months free play now)
i'm with Hangtime...smells like Gorgonzola.

The way you nailed some small details but overlooked some big ones (like Raubvogel pointed out) makes me think you're borrowing somebody else's story. What the hell, though. It's just the internet.
I'll say this, though: some of you guys have really, really big hearts.

How does one who has been recomended for a medal go about turning it down?
-
you can't and you don't. the kid's full of crap.

Yes they do. They ARE the hero's in this thread.. of THAT there is no doubt.

Isnt this the same guy who said he owned a 3/4 scale P-51, and a number other stories?
If so there just might be the SLIGHT possibility he's lying.
P.S: His first posts sounds like a story CNN would definetly report. Has anyone seen anything.
