I still have the same problem with voice. All the other game sounds work perfectly, I have tried the reset command, and I don't have any problem with recording my voice in Windows. I also have reinstalled the whole program and it still didn't seem to fix the problem. I used to use voice all the time before one of the updates, so I know it's worked in the past.
I'm considering signing up for MA, but I want to fix this problem first. Someone please help!

Check out your keymap. IIRC, one of the patches changed the keymap by adding a feature. If the new feature, I can't remember what it was, defaulted to what you had mapped as the mic toggle there may be your problem.
Hope this helps

Check to make sure that in Setup>Preferences>Voice all of the sliders are at the top.
-
I can't hear anyone and nobody can hear me... Also, everything is at the top. Any other ideas? Skuzzy?
-
Bring up the volume control panel. If you're in the "Play controls" make sure the Mute box under Microphone is checked. If it's there, click the "Advanced" button under microphone and check the "Microphone +20db Boost" box.
Now click Options and select Properties. Click the "Recording" option, make sure Microphone is checked and click OK. Again under "Microphone" check the "Select" box. Again, if it's there, click the "Advanced" button under microphone and check the "Microphone +20db Boost" box.
You SHOULD be good to transmit now.
So far as hearing everyone else, you should hear them if you hear all of the other game sounds. But, in any case a post of your system specs and the dxdiag output might help.
-
If you cannot hear anyone, it could be a lot of reasons. Are you behind a router? If so, make sure the router is not blocking ports. Also make sure the router supports UDP over NAT. Many do not. You can check this by putting your computer in the DMZ. If it works, then the router does not support UDP over NAT properly.
{er NHawk's instructions, make sure your microphone is set to be the recording device in Windows. There are some applications which will change this setting, without notifying you. Aces High will not change settings in your computer.

I have the same sort of problem.. just a little different. i can trasmit fine.. but i cannot hear anyone. i hear their beep then the first spilt second of what they are trying to say.. then it cuts off.
It used to work fine.. i have updated firmware i have hard reset the router.. i have changed pc's..checked wireless.. and cables... i have tried a differesnt router.. and that makes it work..
so i believe its something in my router.. but i cant find it.. just started happening all of a sudden about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago at max.
any suggestions?

I followed your directions for the mic. And Umm.... how do I post my system specs and the dxdiag output?

I have no idea if I have a router and also no idea how to put my computer in the DMZ... Sorry for not being more computer savvy.

The router they're talking about is a home or "Small Office Home Office" aka SOHO router you buy so you can give multiple computers access to the web and share files between your computers. The SOHO router then usually connects to a DSL or cable modem. fyi All the connecting cables are ethernet.
-
how do I post my system specs and the dxdiag output?
go to start /run/ type in dxdiag
let it run , then clic on save
it will save a notepad file on ur desktop
copy and paste the 1st 1/4 of the file here... we need to see down thru the sound spacifics ... or email the whole thing to skuzzy and brib him (i hear he accepts cookies) :D
-
In that case, I don't have a router... I only have one home computer connected to my dsl service.
Before I copy & paste my system specs.... Is there any info that might be confidential that I shouldn't post?

your computers "Name " is the only thing someone could try to use .

try turning down your sound excelleration one notch
also with the different firewalls in h2h it may have voice wacked
I'll host a room tonight if ya want to try to work it out (6pmish pacific)
your drivers look ok (your not getting any game lockups are you ?)
I dont see any reason why VC wont work in the MA ive got the same sound setup and mine works fine most of the time.
-
How do I turn my sound acceleration down?
Sorry, I didn't get your message until now. I've been painting my living room ceiling, lol. Maybe sometime tomorrow?
No I'm not getting any lockups.
-
Here you go... this is for a creative card on XP but yours should be the similar.
Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Voice tab, (your audio card should be listed now) under the Voice playback section, you should be able to click Advanced to bring up a dialog box, click the Performance tab and look for for a slider labled Hardware acceleration. Adjust this slider to no more than 3/4.
-
Done.
-
Anyone else have any ideas? Please? :cry

Just blueskying here ............
Does your DSL modem plug into a USB port? I dont see a network card anywhere.

As was stated earlier in this post, your problem is down below unless u got your mic plugged into wrong jack on your sound card.
-
Damn it! I play in a band! I should know where I got to put that damned mic in!
I just dont know what to do anymore... argh =( :cry
Me voice recorder works... If I type .radio 5 MeUserName and press Talkbutton I just hear a beep after I stopped pressing...
But when I´m in the channel 101, the talkbutton seems to dont work...
-
Hrisskar, relax. First off did u go to your volume control panel and click on record properties. And then make sure u have mic there and that it is selected. 2nd, under the playback properties, the mic is muted (very important). 3rd what soundcard do U have as some sound cards support half dublex, not full.
-
I bring up the sound recorder in accessories and confirm windows sees the mic and I can play back sound. If I get it there loud and clear it almost always works in AH
