one could easily be talking about tinker afb in oklahoma....
i used to work at travis afb - in fairfield cleaning c141s and c5s at their wash facillities (hangar 811 or 812) - as well as contract c130s and whatever else they dragged in.
i also volunteered at the museum and lived about 5 mi from there in highschool for a while.
edit: oh yeah and i learned to fly out at travis aero club. if you get out that way say hi to ann the dispatcher and mike hollman one of there instructors (if they're still there)if you see them. they'll remember me, i was the 18yr old kid back in the early 90's who scared the he** out of everyone on each approach and wore out all their nose gears ;)

If you're talking about Tinker AFB, then I lived there from about 1959 to 1963. Lived on Cook Ave, right across from Chenault Loop.
Is that the right place?
;)
