A. Ju87 enters dive, here at 15,000 feet.
B. Ju87 reaches the maxium dive speed of 350 mph at a dive angle of 80%.
C. About 30 seconds after start of the dive, the Ju87 reaches the pull-out altitude, which was previously decided if the attack was planned. The pilot presses a button initiating the automatic pull-out system.
D. A few seconds after pull out is initiated, the bomb automatically releases from the plane.
E. After the pull-out, the pilot attempts to regain control of the plane, retracts the dive brakes, opens the throttle, trims for level flight and tries to get away as quick as possible to avoid being hit by the explosion and debris of the bomb!

Very nice instructional post on Stuka dive bombing.
Was there a point to it? Or just for grins and giggles?

Oldman doesn't get needled enough, I feel it's my calling in life.

If the stuka where to be introduced into the current setup it would be a hanger queen. Yeah, it's a really cool plane and if ya have Mitsu's sound pack you can hear that cool wail as you enter your dive and pull out as your bomb leaves the plane. BUT in this setting the stuka would simply be a flying target.
Also
If ya read up on your history the only way the Stuka had any success is when it had Air cover. Most the time when they where used the German's had total air dominance. But, as we see in the Battle of Britian, when challenged by fighters the Stuka's where slaughtered.
It would be kinda cool if we had the G version with the 37mm. But as others pointed out in countless threads before. It would still sit in the hanger and collect dust.
Your cool diagram also fails to show you F and G....where the Stuka after dropping its Ord is intercepted and blown to pieces.

Really?
Gee, this history is all brand new news to me. How ever did I miss it. Are you saying this plane was slow and its inherent stability made evasion in it poor?
I can't believe that . . . .
I guess that thread about unbalancing the arenas was too subtle?
I've never blown myself up in a Stuka, not an one time, but I reckon I can go see if I could . . .

"If ya read up on your history the only way the Stuka had any success is when it had Air cover. "
And if you read a bit more you realize that on the eastern front the Stukas could provide "fighter cover" pretty well by themselves. I does have a rather small wingloading without bombs...

Riigghtt....your telling me that you've never been downed by enemy action? Must be one of those REMF tricks then. :aok

:huh
Stuka's providing "fighter support"?!?! Care to point me towards the book that you got this from? I would love to read about how Stuka's fended off the Yaks, Laggs, Migs, ducks, geese, and kitchen sinks that where thrown at them on the eastern front. Oh and Rudel doesnt count. :aok

I had a lot fun one night using the Ju-87 and dogfighting a Hurricane, If I had something bigger than two 7mm guns I would have got him too.

Hmmmmm . . .
This is rather confusing, you might try re-reading it and see where you got off track from "never blown myself up in one" to "enemy action". If you still need something answered I'm glad to discuss it.
The Stuka, Vall, SBD, Kate . . .
These are actually hard to blow yourself up in or "pancake" into the ground because they are so stable.
But if you have self immolation in dive bombers mastered, I'd love to see the films. I'm always up for learning something new.

Doh, my bad... I thought you were implying that you've never been shot down in a Ju-87.

"Oh and Rudel doesnt count. "
Sure pal, despite being a nazi he has a lot more credibility than you on the matter of how the JU87 was used on the Eastern front. :aok

I know, it's funny how we all drift all over these subjects casually, misreading is a part of the process here.

Opinions vary. Rudel tells a great story, but I'm not sure how much of it you can trust, either.
- oldman (read somewhere that a claim of 500 tanks killed with those 37s is ridiculous)

Yeah, I think if you added up all the victories the German Aces claimed, about 2 dozen of them shot down more planes then were ever built. Many tanks apparently exploded form the mere sound of Rudel's engine warming, kind of like the He177 that way . . .
Wasn't over claiming built into the German system basically so that claims of victories won them promotions, moved them back to better, less risky jobs? I seem to recall somethingh about that from the Battle of Britain . . .

Hm, I've been believing that the Germans had to have a witness or give the location of the wreck for a claimed kill. Not sure about that, and anyway it wouldn't affect Rudel's tank score... But anyone willing to climb in an aircraft during WWII with no certainty of coming home does deserve a bit of appreciation from us computer gamers, IMO. We don't really die here so it's easy for us to up a Stuka to a hail of AAA and a swarm of enemy fighters...
