Our A-20 is the G model right? For I read on acouple websites that the A-20G had 4 20mm nose cannons and two 50 cals under the nose. Then I think it said ventral turret and a top turret. I don't care bout the turrets but those cannons sure sound nice.
-
We have an A-20G-5-DO Standard 6 .50 Caliber Guns with this Production Block on. Why we don't have the tunnel gun is anyone's guess
Here's some more info
http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon/baugher_us/a20-17.html
The 20mm Cannons would be nice though:cool:

They couldn't find any good pictures of the ventral gun when they modelled the A-20. I believe someone found some pictures later, but it probably isn't a priority.
-
Hopefully if they ever remodel the A-20G we'll get that as an armament option (along with the option to up as a fighter)
-
Upping as a fighter would be completely reasonable, since WAS used as a night fighter. If needed, could even make the night fighter version a separate entry with a different model number -- the P-70.
OTOH, the 4x 20mm might be a disappointment for you. It used the US Hispanos (which were manufactured with a chamber size incorrectly converted from the original metric measurements -- I am not making this up). It was very prones to jams unless the ammunition was manually oiled before loading, and (most importantly for AH) only carried 60 rpg in the drum magazines. Thats what the new spit V has, and you can see how popular it is in MA.
In real life, the US was so underwhelmed with the cannon variant that every single airframe was given to the soviets.

Well it would give the VVS something new for attacking in scenarios and AvA setups. :)

I remember reading that Kenney's guys in the South Pacific were also
blinded by the muzzle flash by the 20mm when they first were tried.
As far as the A-20 being a fighter, the P-70 nightfighter differed slightly
if you look closely, you will see the 20mm are in a pod below the fuselage.

btw, dont the A20 need to be a 'bit' more tough??
If i attack it, it almost always explode after some rounds, maybe more easy than any japanese paperplane.
Or is this only my impression?
-
When I flew it, I was annoyed with how easily the elevators would rip off. Not sure if that's the way the real plane was or not.

i kill gvs, in IL2/A20 and both can take up 3-4 x37mm hits if are not hit in vital parts. Most of attack plane must be lucky to survive with heavy damage after 1 x 37mm shell ,
Imop A20 is modeled tough enough for its size

Hi,
i was talking about aircombat. When i attack a A20, even with the single 20mm of the 109F, it very often simply explode. Iam very suprised then, cause i dont see this with many planes in AH.
Are you refering to the Ai AAA?? This guns seems to be a bit weak anyway.
Greetings,
Knegel

i said 37mm, I'm not refering about Ai field cv/guns, cuz all are 20mm and weak firepower , low rate of fire, All the 37/40mm are maned on bases, ostwind,PT,CV

I heard somewhere that the A20 has an issue where most of the plane is considered the pilot and therefor the "pilot" dies when you're hit. That's just rumor though, so don't take my word for it.
