Why cant the tempest have rocket rails like the typhoon because im sure it did have that option in WW2 ?????

They probably decided the Typhoon would be the attacker and the Tempest would be the fighter.
Or they were afraid we'd all just lawndart it into a tank every time :)

I don't know that I've ever seen any photo evidence that the Temp carried rockets during WW2.
I've seen photos of Post-War Temps with them, but I think it came down to the Tiffe being the ground pounder and the Temp chased the V-1s, 262s, D9s etc.
Kinda like the Spit XIV during wartime. The IX/XVI became the ground attack bird while the XIV was the interceptor/fighter

Tempest Mk. V was tested and cleared to carry 8 zero length 60 lb ground attack rockets. But it was never used operationally during the war. After the war, when used on Mk. IIs, the rockets were often mounted on zero length hooks. The rails spoiled the aerodynamics of the wing.
