After a power outage my wireless network has gone wacky. I have everything up except one computer. Near as I can tell, it has a completely different IP addy than the main comp. That doesn't seem right.
It says I'm connected to the network, but it won't access the internet at all. Help!

MT, I know nothing about wireless networks. But I'll give you a shameless bump to help ya out.:)
Does it have WinXP? Can you try a system restore?

Can you be more specific than "whacky"?
Define "everything".
Of course the other computer is going to have a completely different IP address. Usually the first 3 octects are going to be the same with the forth one being different, that's normal.
If nothing else use "Wireless Network setup Wizard" and re-setup the network.
As a PS, the more info you can tell us MT, the more effective our responses can be!

It had a completely different IP, all four numbers. I got it working, but I'm still not sure which change I made actually fixed the problem. I had it manually go to a proper IP then changed it to automatic and it's working now... computers suck.

Have you tried the network repair button on the wacky computer yet?
Start\Settings\Network Connections\........Click the network connection thats for that computer. Click the support tab, then click repair.
Thats what my neighbors do for theirs, they have their computer and all three kids ona wireless network, with a Blekin router, from wal mart.

You also may want to check the wireless router, make sure it's "power band" is still fresh. If it isn't, I'd recommend the 2.4ghz rated mauve-colored power band. You can get them at any retail electronics store.

The workgroup name was changed on the bad comp. So it was connected, but not connected. I guess the workgroup is the DNS er... thing.

This has got to be a troll. If he really wanted helpfull, usefull advise he would've posted this in the aces high hardware and software forum.
